If you miss the sound of your own thoughts, then a trip to The Hare & Hound Country Estate is the perfect, dog-friendly place for you! Located just outside of Oberon, this remote, nature pleasant stay will re-centre and bring you back to calm.

The adventure starts as you enter the gate and switch the asphalt for dirt, winding around the road, passing a variety of farm animals including cows and sheep. If you’re lucky you could spot a kangaroo too! The decor of the cottage gave us retro country Australiana vibes and really made us feel at home among the gumtrees. We had quite cool and rainy weather during our stay, giving us more reason to light up the fireplace, kick back and soak up the property.

We brought our dog Bowie with us and he loved running around the property, sometimes getting into mischief (sorry sheep!). We spent the mornings reading, drinking coffee and roaming the property. By night we cuddled up as a family and enjoyed quality time together.

It's definitely worth exploring the town of Oberon and visiting Mayfield Garden while you're around for a walk and some food. We left feeling rejuvenated from this nature-filled stay and we couldn’t recommend it enough!
