Girls' Weekend

Heading to the beach for the weekend you’re always optimistic that the weather is going to pull through and hey maybe we’ll spend the weekend basking in the sun! Who are we kidding it was still only early spring. Lucky our little seaside cottage was super cozy, they’ve got a gas heater and fire and a really epic setup!  After a pretty mellow hour drive from Melbourne we spent the morning checking out all the quirky features of the cottage. Trust me this place is full of character including some Australian classics, even a record player. There is a very cool 70’s vintage vibe going on, I’m talking right down to the polaroid toilet roll. We could have happily spent all weekend cuddled up in front of the fire, but adventure calls and the coastline on the Mornington Peninsula has some great walks.

This funky 70’s themed seaside cottage is all kinds of cozy and quirky and we loved every part of it. There’s a queen bed and single bunks, perfect for a girls weekend getaway or family trip (ideal for a couple, a max of 3 adults, or 2 adults & 2 kids.) We visited in early spring and the gas heater and fire was such a nice feature, we felt very cozy and warm.  In addition to the epic decor, the outdoor fire pit was a highlight and our hosts even left us marshmallows to toast. On clear night star gazing would be a dream.

This walk takes around an hour return (we took our time) with great views and we even got to watch some surfers in action....
Feeling a bit peckish we hit the cute little town of Flinders for brunch at Georgie Bass Café & Cookery which also offers cooking classes if you're inclined...
We enjoyed a nice stroll down Flinders pier before heading off to explore Cape Schanck....
