Hi, we’re Heather and John — the owners behind Carawirry Forest Escape.
We bought these 250 acres in 2017, when our three kids were still tiny. The forest was beautiful, overgrown and in need of plenty of care. We’ve spent the years since rebuilding cabins, reopening trails and learning how to look after this rather special patch of Australian wilderness.
When Heather arrives after being away, she nearly always stops and looks up at the trees before doing anything else. John’s usually checking tree heads, tracks, water pumps or firewood, while the kids make a beeline for the waterfall, creeks and whatever wildlife has wandered through.
The forest is the hero here. The cabins simply let you stay long enough to feel it.
Carawirry is fully self-check-in, so we won’t be waiting at the door when you arrive. Your space and privacy are part of the experience. Behind the scenes, though, our family is making sure the tracks are clear, the firewood is stacked and your cabin is ready for you.
