A trip to Hahei wouldn't be complete without taking in the sights of the famous Te Whanganui-A-Hei, Cathedral Cove. Well-known the world over from films such as the Narnia Chronicles, this gem of a beach with its famed rock archway won't fail to take your breath away, whether it's your first or your 50th time there. The walkway down to the Cove is fully sealed and maintained, with some stairs right at the end leading down to the beach.
There are also toilet (long-drop) facilities, which are heralded as the best "loo with a view" in NZ. A natural waterfall with fresh water running off the cliff down some vines completes the incredible picture painted by this haven.
