Silver Falls
Waterfall in Packwood, WA
This is a beautiful hike – rain, hail or shine – and on our adventure we enjoyed a classic PNW experience hiking in the rain. When we first arrived, we walked through the Ohanapecosh Visitor Center and the staff were so kind and insightful about the area, and gave us a map for our hike. Although so rainy, it was that much more refreshing being in nature with the fresh smell of the rain and the sound of the rain hitting the trees. Furthermore, the trail is lined with smaller waterfalls throughout the hike as well as one magnificent waterfall about halfway through the hike before the trail loops around. We even were surprised to have easy access to a natural hot spring just off the Silver Falls Trail, which was clearly marked. The hike was the perfect difficulty for each of us, as we all had varying athletic capabilities, but we all easily made it through this three-mile roundtrip hike. All you need now is your National Parks Pass, some company, and a weekend getaway with Riparide to get to experience this adventure!
