Rejuvenate and Reconnect in a Tranquil Cabin
Adventure in Ashford, Mount Rainier, WA, US
Nearing arrival, we turned onto a dirt road and went over a bridge. When we pulled up and saw the cabin all nestled among the trees, we were so excited to start this adventure. We opened up the cabin to see this quaint, cozy interior. The loft had 2 beds, there was a fireplace and so many games and movies. We unpacked our things and decided to head out to get some dinner.
We drove about 20 minutes down this beautiful scenic drive to Mill Haus Cider Co. This place has AMAZING food! They have indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. There was also live music while we were there. We chose to sit by the fire they had going. We relaxed and enjoyed good conversation. We spent the rest of the evening playing games that they provided.
The next day, we prepared ourselves to spend the day hiking. There are so many trails to go explore. When we started out, we thought it would just be raining off and on. Little did we know, there was a snowstorm headed our way. The entire 45-minute drive up Mt Rainier was so surreal, we kept stopping to breathe in the fresh air and take pictures. By the time we got to the visitor centre and park, it had started to snow. We ended up going on the Skyline loop trail. It was so peaceful walking in the snow. We planned on hiking 3-5 miles that day. But maybe about 2 miles into the hike, the temperature dropped, and it started to really snow. We didn't have gloves and our hands were freezing. So, we decided to turn back around and call it a day.
We spent the rest of our time being all cozy in the cabin. We made a fire inside and made a delicious dinner. I decided to try out the tub they had outside. It took some time to fill it up, but after it filled up, I was able to relax outside under the canopy of trees.
Overall, this trip was exactly what we all needed to reconnect and enjoy the outdoors. We have some amazing memories we won't ever forget. We are already planning on staying here again come spring....
