Cozy Escape to A-Frame Heaven

In late spring, my fiancé and I had a chance to escape the city life and visited this riverfront cabin right in the heart of Packwood, Washington. Just a few hours’ drive from Seattle, tall buildings turned into endless meadows, forests, and mountainous peaks.

When we arrived, we were amazed by the gorgeous craftsmanship throughout the cabin. There was everything we needed for a weekend getaway, including a washer/dryer and a fully stocked kitchen. It truly felt like a home away from home!

When we went into the yard, we were excited to see the hot tub right below the deck. A short walk along the path outside the gates leads you to the picturesque Cowlitz River and we wished that we had brought our fishing rods. My inner-child came out when we took a spin on the mini zip-line out the front – we laughed so hard we cried!

We explored the natural areas around Packwood and went sightseeing at the viewpoints along US-12 E. When we returned, we enjoyed a nice midnight soak in the hot tub and played some pool in the game room. After our stay, we felt rejuvenated and ready for the busy summer season!

Perfect for any meal of the day, but their breakfast burritos are especially delicious – the best I've ever tried! Also a good place to get drinks with friends.

Perfect for anyone who wants to see picturesque views without the hike. Starting in Packwood, we stopped by several scenic viewpoints along US-12 E, and saw waterfalls, mountain peaks and beautiful lush forests. The Mt Rainier-Goat Rocks viewpoint has a gorgeous view of Mt Rainier on a clear day (though on our trip, we didn't get to see it because of the clouds).
