A phenomenal location just outside of the main town, the house was a perfect little getaway spot for all that was needed. Louise was super helpful before, during and after the stay and I highly recommend The Escarpment for anyone wanting to visit Halls Gap and be close to everything!

Louise was very responsive during our stay. The property is in a stunning location on a hill with beautiful trees and nature views. Has lots of nice extra touches like board games, DVD's and kitchen basics. I also enjoyed the big bath even though the jets weren't working at the time.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Escarpment! We came for my 40th birthday to hike the Grampians and this was a perfect spot to stay.

Things we loved -
Location super close to town, took 2 minutes ...to drive to some incredible pizza at Raccolto and some great craft beer at Paper Scissors Rock Brewery. The start to the hike to the Pinnacle is just there too.

Super warm indoor fireplace - it was freezing in June but this fireplace kept us toasty. It’s electric so no need for firewood.

Bathtub with a view to soak the sore legs after hikes. Unfortunately the spa button was broken so no jets, but the hot bath definitely helped!

King sized bed in the main room was a nice touch, and plenty of space for 6 although we only had 2.

Would definitely be back!

Ross and I love travelling not that we get as much time these days with our 2 gorgeous daughters. We have two properties in Halls Gap/The Grampians to offer you The Escarpment (sleeps 6) & Heavenly Retreat (sleeps 2). We take pride in our properties and are passionate about The Grampians and surrounding area. Ross is a mad mountain biker and we all love bushwalking. We also have a property in Richmond in Melbourne called TWO FIVE ZERO / RICHMOND. This property offers the best of a 'big city' experience with city views and is near to the Yarra River (Capital City Bike Trail) park and oval. All of our properties are fully furnished and have all the amenities of home. We can't wait to welcome you to stay with us!

Kayaking

The Grampians National Park is the ideal place to hit the water for a paddle. Cruise the streams, lakes and creeks and enjoy the stunning landscapes and soak up the natural beauty. Either bring your own kayak or you are able to hire canoes and kayaks from local operators and set out on the waters of lakes Bellfield, Wartook, Fyans and Hamilton. Bring your fishing gear and cast a line while you’re enjoying the scenery. Feel alive by paddling and exploring the lakes and soaking up nature from your kayak.

Peaceful Lakes

Unwind, switch off and enjoy the many lakes in the region. Whether its floating on a lilo or tube in summer or rugging up for a lakeside picnic and meander in autumn or spring. There is a beautiful lake to suit every season and landscape. Explore Lake Fyans, Rocklands Reservoir, Lake Lonsdale, Lake Bellfield and Lake Wartook and soak up the natural beauty and peace.

Mackenzie Falls

There are several waterfalls to explore at the Grampians, the most popular being the impressive Mackenzie Falls. This is one of Victoria's largest waterfalls and flows all year. It’s an easy walk to an observation platform, that overlooks Broken Falls or you can take a more energetic route down the stairs for a closer look at the cascading Mackenzie Falls.

Rock Climbing Abseiling

Mt Arapiles is an epic peak located west of Horsham. The mountain contains more than 2,000 climbs, varying from easy ascents for first-timers to level 30 climbs. The peak claims some of the most dramatic and challenging rock formations in Australia. Thanks to a combination of dependable weather and a wide array of cliffs, pinnacles and bluffs.
