Tranquil Surf Coast escape nestled in the trees

Tucked away on the ocean side of the Great Ocean Road, Aireys Gully Side is a unique, tranquil coastal retreat surrounded by trees & birdsong.
At the end of a quiet no-through road, it's a place to slow down. To relax and sway in the hammock, fire up the BBQ or spot visiting kookaburras & rosellas from the deck.
The Surf Coast Walk & Sandy Gully Beach are steps away, with Sunnymead’s rockpools and the Aireys Inlet top shops (café, pub, general store, Le Comptoir) just minutes further.
The space
Whether you’re here to relax, reconnect or explore, Aireys Gully Side has room to spread out.
Our main house has 3 bedrooms (1 x queen, 2 x single bunks), bathroom, kitchen, living & laundry.
Our Studio Sanctuary is a generous separate retreat across the deck with a queen bed & powder room.
What we love:
> Hammock and double lounger for lazy afternoons
> Big deck for BBQs, star-gazing and slow summer nights under the festoon lights
> Friendly birdlife like cockatoos, rosellas, kookaburras to say hi
> A peaceful spot that’s perfect for families, couples, or friends (but not suited for loud late-night parties)
> Fabulous hot/cold outdoor shower with funky privacy screen
Sleeps 8 comfortably, which is ideal for one or two families holidaying together, a group of friends or your book club, running mates or mountain biking buddies.
Inside, you’ll find cosy couches, stacks of books and magazines, DVDs, CDs and bluetooth speaker, toys, LEGO, puzzles and board games (for kids big and small). Outside, kids will love the trampoline and cubby house and exploring the nooks in our property.
The kitchen is architect-designed and well stocked with essentials (coffee, teas, condiments, oils, baking basics) plus plenty of cookware for creating feasts.
Stay comfortable year-round with split systems in the studio, main bedroom and living room, plus Nobo heaters and fans throughout. In Winter, curl up and listen to the breeze through the trees. In Summer, soak in the long evenings under festoon lights on the deck.
Two dedicated car parks at the front of the house via our driveway
We welcome enquiries for location shoots to capture Aireys Gully Side’s charm and design
No pets, no smoking property
The property is surrounded by bushland, so occasional spiders or insects may wander through

We had a great girls weekend at Katherine’s place. Located amongst the trees in a quiet area the house was everything we needed for a great relaxing weekend.
The house had a fully equipped kitchen, w...as clean and modern.
Katherine was a very generous host who had great communication and we loved the treats she left.
We hope to return again next year

Katherine's property is a coastal gem amongst the bushland. Warm, inviting, cosy, clean, considered and spacious. She's stocked the place up with everything you could need. We even arrived to some tho...ughtful treats she placed on the table for us. We had a weekend here in October with 6 adults and we loved hanging out, cooking up a storm, doing indoor and outdoor activities nearby. Her place is a short walk to shops, the beach and local attractions. The place is great for adults and children. The only suggestions we would have is having a knife sharpener ( we cooked and whilst well stocked, they were a bit of a struggle), a serrated knife to cut through the beautiful local bread from Le Comptoir Bakehouse and a latch extension on the bathroom door as it was a bit tricky trying to lock it when in use. We had the most wonderful weekend and look forward to coming back with friends and their kids very soon! Thank you so much ❤️

I love exploring new places and bringing back memories of those adventures to Aireys Gully Side.
I love going for walks along the surf coast walk, catching the rock pools amongst the low tides at Sunnymead and Sandy Gully beaches, mountain biking in Anglesea and Salt Lager from the Aireys Pub.

Split Point Lighthouse
The lighthouse, which overlooks the inlet, is still functioning today and was completely deserted that early in the morning. From there you can follow the short walking trails down for more views of the nearby beaches and cliffs or head back to the car park where there are plenty of good spots for a picnic.
Surfing In Aireys Inlet At Sandy Gully Beach
The drive along Great Ocean Road offers so many great surfing spots. We spent an afternoon hitting up Sandy Gully beach before heading before heading to the property to unwind.
French Baked Goods
We grabbed ourselves some French baked goods from Le Comptoir which was full of sweet distractions! Ha! We took them back to our beach abode and enjoyed them over a nice cuppa tea on the deck!
Cake And Coffee At Le Comptoir
We pulled in after a surf in Aireys Inlet to grab a bite before heading on to our destination. Such a great spot! We had heard great things about this French deli and restaurant and were not disappointed.
The cakes and baguettes are amazing, made from quality ingredients and so tasty and fresh. The coffee and vibes were on point. We will be heading back for dinner next time we're on the Great Ocean Rd. WOW.

Brunch Full Stop
We walked into Airies township to Mr T and Me for brunch. Super gorge cafe with a wicked good menu.
Surfing
The only readily accessible beach is Aireys Inlet Beach (322), which is located at the mouth of a gully. It has a small car park, and steps down to the beach from the end of Eagle Rock Parade. There are beach breaks over the bars and southern reefs.
