Welcome to our cob home!

For those who are new to the concept; cob houses are made of clay-like lumps of soil, sand, and straw. We are eco friendly and off grid making it the perfect getaway from the big city.

Located on a private property surrounded by beautiful, natural state forest. Our cob house includes:

2 bedroom (1 queen + 2 singles)
Outdoor shower (tank water) with gas hot water
Fully equipped camping kitchen for cooking
Outdoor fire pit
Composting toilet system

Kitchen: The kitchen has a gas cooker with pots and pans as well as cooking utensils, some cooking essentials (oil, salt & pepper etc) and a full size fridge. There is no oven or microwave, this is off grid living.

Bathroom: Located outside which runs hot water. Our water is filtered from our dam and gas heated.

Toilet: There is a composting toilet system. Super easy to use, firstly, there is no flush button; after using the toilet please sprinkle some wood shaving in the bowl, this covers your business, immediately neutralizes any smells and prompts the natural decomposition process.

Phones/Wi-fi: You may or may not have reception depending on which provider you are with but again… this is off grid living, just enjoy the space!

We thank you again for supporting our small business.

We stayed at this zen den for 2 nights and we absolutely loved it!!! So peaceful and relaxing. The place had everything we needed and we really enjoyed the disconnect from the outside world. The prope...rty was beautiful and both the hosts we so accommodating and lovely. We were super comfy in our beds and adored the uniqueness of the cob house including all the books and musical instruments!
We'll be back to stay in the near future for sure!

PS. The most amazing spot to star gaze around a camp fire.. made plenty of wishes upon shooting stars both nights we were there.

Exploring The Property Making Friends

We walked the property most mornings during our stay and loved making friends with all the animals we found. Right down by our stay is a watering hole which was a pretty lovely sight watching the dragonflies zoom around just above the water.
Floss was the popular one when it come to feeding the animals especially the alpacas. That night too, we had a visit from Mr Fox, which was pretty cool seeing him cruise around. Everyones so chilled at the cob stay!

Outdoor Games

The stay had a tone of outdoor games, hoops, balls and all sorts of play time goodness! The totem tennis gave me flashbacks to my childhood playing this with both my sisters. I smashed Flossy once again as I did when we played as kids. Ha! There's also a little zen den place for yoga and meditation although when we stayed, it wasn't quite finished yet. Check in with the hosts if this is something you are into during your stay. They are super helpful and friendly humans!

Creative Play With Music

All through the property was all kinds of musical instruments. And yes.. I gave them all a red hot go! Hollie and I had a little jam around the camp fire before the sun fell. I wouldn't say our music careers will take off after that sesh although we had loads of fun creating music and laughing our heads off.

Camp Fires Starry Nights

A fabulous spot to star gaze and enjoy a camp fire! We also made baked potatoes too for tea that night. Nothin' like a campfire roast spud! We finished up the night roasting marshmallows and making s'mores!
