Our beachfront cabins in Pahoia halfway between Katikati and Tauranga are simple cabins, true bach-styled simplicity with a few of the modern luxuries to make it easy to enjoy your break.

20 meters from your deck is the lovely white sandy inner harbour Pahoia Beach. The great thing about this beach is you are never faced with big waves, only gentle lapping at your feet. Bring your 4 legged family members, we have plenty of room.

Go fishing off the front lawn & catch your dinner, walk a short distance along the beach to Pahoia Domain & catch dinner off the rock. Enjoy the privacy but knowing you are only 13 minutes drive to Tauranga’s CBD.

Lover of animals and have rescued many which are here for your enjoyment.. Deer, Little Horse, Chickens, Ducks, and Turtles. I am an outdoorsy person, you'll always find me outside taking care of the animals, walking them along the beach, planting some native trees around the property, swimming at high tide or enjoying a cuppa out on the deck.

Swim At The Aongatete Water Holes

The Aongagtete Swimming Holes are a gorgeous local spot to explore. From the car park, it’s an easy 30 minutes walk to the pools through Pūriri and Kohekohe forest. We went for a quick swim and then relaxed in the sun near the pools.

A Stroll Through Haiku Park

Take a wander through Haiku Park, situated in the heart of Katikati. Down by Uretara stream, you’ll find a collection of carved haiku poems dotted throughout the park. Plenty of green space makes this a great picnic spot in good weather.

Mauao Summit Walk

Hike to the top of Mount Maunganui's most famous landmark. The walk takes about 30 minutes, maybe shorter or longer depending on fitness. You are able to choose between two scenic tracks to reach the extinct 232 metre high volcanic cone summit. The view from the top is worth the effort, I promise. PS: no drones as this is a sacred Maori site and you need to show respect.

Sunrise Swim At The Mount

We enjoyed a sunrise swim at Mt Maunganui Beach followed by coffee. It was nice and early, so there was no-one else around, and the dip was surprisingly warm and very refreshing. What a way to start the day.
