A romantic escape is waiting for you. The rustic Mountain View Cabin is a very private, romantic getaway for 2. Set in the forest, with a view of snowcapped Jumbo Mountain, this cabin escape perfectly blends a rustic camping vibe with creature comforts and the privacy of a truly special couples getaway (it is far from campsites on the property).

Enjoy the warmth of a wood fire in the wood stove, while watching the sun set on Jumbo Mountain. View the movement of trees above you and the stars in the sky from your queen sized memory foam bed (the "moon roof").

The 9' tall front 'window' opens to create a covered outdoor patio in any weather. Sit under this transparent roof and enjoy a beautiful campfire in the trees.

The accommodation is off grid. A propane light, a wood stove for heat and a porta-potty. We provide a 5 gallon water supply, and a propane cook stove, and a campfire firepit for an easy warmup after a day of hiking. And there is plenty of hiking nearby.

While we allow up to 4 persons it is made for 2 +pets.

Additional Information

This is an off-grid cabin, no running water, no electricity, limited propane powered appliances. Heating is via the wood stove. We do not provide refrigeration, bring your food in a cooler.

We provide basic cooking items, pots, pans, utensils, coffee-making items, for use with the 2-burner stovetop. If you want to cook over the fire, bring your outdoor cooking items (use our pans only over propane cooking surfaces).

We provide 5 gallons of fresh drinking water for your use.

We provide simple bedding, but if you are worried about the temperature at night, bring extra blankets or a sleeping bag.

We provide a camp chairs for your use outside.

There is a single Propane lamp on the wall, simple match ignition.

Two battery operated bedside lamps are provided.

The garage door opens by unlatching inside, and then pulling rope outside, tie off with loop.

We keep a small supply of cut timber there for your use, but much of our wood is fresh cut (unseasoned) so you are advised to bring firewood especially for the wood stove, available, if needed, at the shell station 1/4 mile up the road. Do not forage the forest for firewood, fallen branches are part of the ecosystem and should be left alone.

The Microcabin was even more cute and cozy than I anticipated. Felt like living in a cabin off grid for a few days more than camping - truly glamping! The surrounding nature was peaceful and lovely, a...nd I enjoyed lounging in bed while the back wall was lifted into a canopy. There were some beautiful hikes nearby that were easy to access and mild in their difficulty. I highly recommend the Old Sauk river trail to see old growth trees covered in moss (which reminded me of the Olympic Peninsula) as well as Fort Mill where there are calm areas on the river perfect for swimming. The hosts were responsive and welcoming, and also provided lots of info on things to do in the area. I plan to be back in the future!

If you want to get as close to the outdoors as possible without sacrificing a cozy bed, this is the place!! Having hot coffee (complimentary coffee AND creamer was such a nice surprise!) in bed with t...he fresh air and a mountain view was a dream. And the interior wood stove would make this place a great stay any time of the year!

Whitehorse Regional Trail

Spanning over 27 miles between the City of Arlington and the Town of Darrington, the Whitehorse Regional Trail follows the path of the former BNSF railroad through the Stillaguamish River Valley. The back county corridor, rewards visitors with picturesque, landscape views of forests, farmland, streams and rivers, and mountain vistas.

Old Mine Road Trail

A beautiful hike up an abandoned road to the old mine. A scramble up the creek at the end of the trail leads to 2 waterfalls. Lovely in the spring, with blooms and berries, and salmonberries. Amble two miles to the mine, passing Moose and Furland Creeks along the way.

Lazy River Float Of The Stilly River

A 3 hour lazy river float from Swede Heaven bridge to Fortson Mill. Leave a car at the mill and begin at the bridge. Wonderfull river and mountain scenes along the way.

North Mountain Skills Park Mountain Biking Trails

The North Mountain skills park is open with 5 miles of trails with jumps, skill features, and lower elevation loops designed for absolute beginner up to expert riders. A large trail system with intermediate to expert level downhill trails. There is an old fire lookout at the summit.

Swim In The North Fork Stillaguamish River

Go for a dip in this hidden swimming spot! Technically a fishing spot, but you can walk down the trail and a couple of feet through ankle-deep water to a sand bar perfect for sunbathing. There's a deep section of slow-moving river right there that makes a great watering hole.

Boulder River Waterfall Hike

The first two miles of this trail make a great family hike, finishing at spectacular waterfalls. Trail to the falls is an easy hike, but once at the falls, if you want to get down to the base of the falls, there is a bit of a scramble.
