Additional Information
The history of Tower Hill is fascinating, make sure you drop in to the information centre to learn about its geological and indigenous significance, the revegetation project and the many walks available to do around the crater lake. You’ll be sure to see emu’s, kangaroos and birdlife - be observant of the trees and you should spot a koala. You’re free to walk, ride or drive to Tower Hill. Mind the traffic. If you’re walking or riding, you can enter Tower Hill from the North East (Google it) which is safer than walking/riding along the highway. Bring some sturdy shoes and enjoy yourself!
The beach, also known by locals as the cutting is a beautiful place for a walk but if you’re not an experienced swimmer or surfer, please be careful. The area is known for its rugged and wild coast, and that includes rips. We would recommend going to Killarney beach, Port Fairy East beach or Worm Bay in Warrnambool for a frolic in the water.
The Cutting is a stunning place for a walk however, so don’t be discouraged from soaking in the local spot.
Groceries & Restaurants
Fresh fruit and seasonal veggies are 500m up the highway to your left. Look for the Volcanic Produce sign.
Koroit has the closest supermarket. (IGA)
WARRNAMBOOL
Marshalls is the best bottle shop in Warrnambool, and your one stop shop for knock out wine, take home cocktails or craft beers.
The Dart and Marlin in Warrnambool is a great bar and restaurant with a lovely vibe. Great pizza and delicious cocktails and a sunny, leafy beer garden in the afternoon.
The Hotel Warrnambool is the classic country town pub. Make sure to book ahead for restaurant meals, or park yourself in the bar for the quintessential pub experience - complete with a pool table and live music on Sunday afternoon.
PORT FAIRY
The Merrijig Inn in Port Fairy is the best in the district. You will need to book ahead for dinner, or in summer call to check if there is space in their delightful garden bar, nestled amongst the kitchen veggie garden. Give Leeroy a kiss from us.

Cosy unique stay with beautiful views amongst rural nature. Loved the indoor fireplace, big windows, split level and high ceilings, beautifully designed. Almost like an adult treehouse. A little dusty - perhaps part of the eco / rustic vibe. Would stay again!

We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful farmscape with ocean views. The space was immaculately clean, well cared for, and had everything needed to unwind and reconnect. I’d especially like to thank Lisa, ...who was an absolute pleasure to deal with- timely, helpful, and genuinely kind in all her communication. Was a truly grounding and memorable experience.
