Pet-friendly
This cute off grid bush cabin is set amongst the gumtrees on our 100acre property that backs onto Shoalhaven River where you can swim, fish, canoe, prospect for gold and bushwalk.

The cabin and outdoor bath has been built using mainly recycled materials to provide a sustainable eco-tourism option. Featuring all the basics to make your stay comfortable like a slow combustion fire place, a queen and single bed, lounge, dining table, outdoor open air shower/bath for moonbathing plus an outdoor flushing toilet using only solar and battery lights (no electricity). Enjoy your device detox as it feels like camping without erecting a tent (Limited Telstra, NO Optus or Vodafone reception). You will also find a picnic table and fire pit outside where you can watch the bush TV (firepit). It has the facility to park a camper trailer or pitch a tent just close by for those extra friends (please book a camp site for these). There is a tap with drinking water, rubbish and recycling facilities.

EV Charging station available Type 2 plug (costs applicable) up near the house, no power at Cabin.

You will need to bring torches, food and an esky. A single burner gas cooktop and BBQ is available at the cabin with gas provided along with a wash up tub. There is crockery, cutlery, some pots and pans provided along with coffee and tea making facilities.

Dogs are permitted as long as they are on a lead at all times, we are a working farm with many animals so it's not ideal for them to roam free.

The track from our farm to river is recommended for 4WD due to sand and steep slopes. It is approx. 2kms in length so makes a lovely bush walk or mountain bike ride (map provided in your room).

Games available inside cabin however we also have giant jenga and Pétanque/Bocci (please ask). Books and games available should you just want to read and relax. Lots of beautiful areas to enjoy.

It’s a lovely spot for a slow, wind down experience. Loved the cows coming to visit each morning.

I had a lovely stay, I really enjoyed the solitude and the neighbours from Kangaroos, to lamas to beautiful cows, checking out who’s moved in. Sadly I had to cut my time short, as I did not read the v...ery clearly explained instructions around no fridge, no electricity, no wifi and limited mobile coverage with Vodafone (I had Vodafone 🤦🏻‍♂️) - all my fault of course but I could easily see myself back just to read and disconnect.

What an awesome stripped back experience.
2 nights, no phone signal, surrounded by nature.
We had a lovely day trip into Tarago for some wine tasting at the corang cellar and lunch at the local pub.
T...he location of the cabin was amazing.
Both outdoor and indoor fireplaces were wonderful.
Everything was as expected from the write up and truly was fantastic value for money. The moon bathing was a fun experience even in the cold air, but warming up by the fire inside certainly completed the experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the book about the local area certainly made us realise how much we haven't explored this beautiful area in our back yard. We will definitely come back!

Tricia and Rainer purchased their 100-acre farm nestled on the banks of the Shoalhaven River in 2004 as a weekend escape from the city for the family. Rainer a builder and Tricia a National Operations Manager, soon fell in love with the rural lifestyle and it only took about 4 years to turn it into their family home. It is their working truffle farm from June to August, however after many requests we have opened the variety of accommodation spots to getaway and enjoy life unhurried under our great sky. EV Charging station available Type 2 plug (costs applicable). The farm is located 2.5 hours from Sydney, 1 hour from Goulburn, Marulan, Braidwood and Nowra and 1.5 hours from Canberra. We have alpacas, goats, horses, chickens, miniature Galloway cattle and a pet pig - Truffle who all roam the property freely. They'll be sure to come by and say hello or have a glance in the window. We have an open, fun approach and enjoy life unhurried, with our animals and the beauty of our property, hence why we love to share it.

I sat beside the rivers edge and used the natural wet sand to exfoliate my skin. My skin felt like silk afterwards!

Coffee And Treats At Deadwood

Deadwood is a cafe but not quite in the sense that it also sells indoor plants, books, flowers and candles. The result is a quirky little haven, full of character and altogether gorgeous. It of course serves delicious Campos coffee but also sweet and savoury treats. We had a quiche there for lunch and could not resist getting some of their amazing cake to take away.
Tianjara Falls Lookout

Tianjara Falls Lookout

If you are visiting from Canberra make sure you stop in at Tianjara Falls on the way home. It is a short walk to the viewing platform but if you are for a bit more adventure there are plenty of rock climbing routes to take advantage of!

French It Up At Provisions

I did not expect to find a genuine taste from home in Braidwood, yet it is what we found when we walked into Provisions, a deli and restaurant run by a lovely French family. While the restaurant/cafe is a traditional French “creperie”, the deli offers a range of Australian imported cheeses and antipasti, as well as groceries from international and local artisan producers. We had lunch there and were treated to delicious and authentic galettes.
A must stop to resupply for your perfect wine and cheese night around the fire!

Exploring The Historic Town Of Braidwood

We spent some time exploring Braidwood, appreciating its charming colonial buildings, interesting shops, cafes with yummy food and beautiful parks.

Pigeon House Mountain

The Pigeon House Mountain climb suites intermediate to experienced hikers and bushwalkers. From the summit, you will see amazing views of the valley and the flowing Clyde River and surrounding mountains. Roughly 8,000 climbers tackle the track each year. On a clear day, you can see the entire coastline from Point Perpendicular in the north to Mount Dromedary in the south. Allow 4 hours and be sure to pack lunch and water for the journey.
