Cabin wrapped in the wilderness
Adventure in Fitzroy Falls, Country NSW, NSW, AU
My stay at Stag and Stone felt like a true escape from everyday life. Nestled amongst nature in every direction, it was a place that invited me to relax.
The cabin itself was incredibly cosy. You’ll find it hard to leave once you’re there. I lost track of time around the indoor and outdoor fireplace, soaking up the warmth and embracing the slower pace of life.
The highlight, however, was undoubtedly the stone bathtub. There is something magical about sinking into a hot outdoor bath.
Just a couple of hundred metres from the cabin sits a waterfall, hidden amongst the bushland. It quickly became a favourite spot, best enjoyed with a glass of wine in the afternoons. Even back at the cabin, the gentle sound of the waterfall could be heard from bed, making every night feel really peaceful.
Adventure is never far away. One morning, I set out on the West Rim Track located at Fitzroy Falls and it was nothing short of spectacular. Thick fog drifted through the valley while the track offered stunning views that truly showcased the waterfall.
After the hike, I enjoyed an incredible lunch at Eschalot in Berrima before returning to the cabin for a slow afternoon by the fire. I was even lucky enough to spot a deer wandering past, a moment that felt perfectly fitting in such a tranquil setting.
Each day finished exactly as it should—relaxing in the outdoor stone bath beneath the stars, listening to the sounds of nature all around me.
My time spent there was the perfect balance of adventure, comfort and connection with nature- exactly what the nervous system needed.
