Unwind in our luxury farm cottage in Scotsburn on the southern slopes of Mt. Buninyong.

Mingara Park Cottage has been loving restored to provide a snug and cosy getaway. Sit and enjoy views of beautiful countryside and sunsets, curl up and read by the stone fireplace, stroll along the farm lane to our lake and meet our friendly goats or miniature belties along the way.

The cottage is ideal for a romantic time away for two or to share with family or friends. Or try a week away from the city working from a country office, The kitchen has all your need to cook up a storm but if you prefer the outdoors start up the baby webber, light the fire pit and sit out under the stars. The cottage sleeps 5 people and has 2 bathrooms and yes your pets are welcome.

Scotsburn is within 15 minutes of the many restaurants, cafes, antiques, parks, galleries, vineyards and golf courses our region has to offer.

Mingara park is on Wadawurrung Country. We acknowledge the Kulin nation, the traditional custodians of this beautiful land and pay our respects to the elders - past, present and emerging.

Beautiful house, perfect scenic view. My family had the best slow weekend. We also went to Ballarat Saturday market and Tram museum (must visit places) and enjoyed pizza next door (Mt. Buninyong Winery).

We loved our second stay at the charming Mingara Park Cottage. Everything you need to enjoy a quiet and peaceful break is provided in this modern, clean cottage. Our favourite activities were stokin...g the fire, and watching the sun set from the gorgeous porch with knee blankets provided! Can’t wait to go back.

Life is short and is to be lived as best we can. Right now on our piece of earth we are milking it for all its worth. Happy animals, healthy soil and moving with the rythms of the seasons equals exhausted but contented humans. We moved to our farm Scotsburn at the base of Mt Buninyong in 2021 and set to work to create a sustainable farm using farming techniques that nurture the enviroment, the animals and the people. We provide luxury accommodation on the farm and breed goats and miniature cattle.

If We Could Talk To The Animals

We share our land with a delightful array of friendly, inquisitive animals - goats, geese (Gwendoline’s and Gerald’s), Miniature belties; Rosey the jersy cow. Meander down the lane from the cottage to the lake and say hello.

Goat Time

Mornings here are a farmyard fanfare. Goats trotting behind you like overenthusiastic interns, horses nodding their approvals and socially anxious cows giving you a side eye.

We decided to check out the hiking track at Lal Lal Falls. Although Lal Lal was dry, we ended up checking out some epic lookouts and a discovered a waterfall at the end of the hike.

Take A Stroll Around Ballarat

We wandered around Ballarat to discover this old, gold-rush town and its iconic architecture. Lydiard Street is renowned for having the best-preserved Victorian streetscapes outside of England. We also visited the Art Gallery of Ballarat, which is Australia’s oldest and largest regional gallery.
