Tucked away in the gums and gardens overlooking the Curdies River, Villa Mala is a unique retreat built from reclaimed timbers sitting atop a mud brick garage. The gardens are wild and wonderful with an abundance of birdlife to enjoy.

Cook dinner on the BBQ while enjoying your private alfresco area, or if you're in the mood for a pub meal head down 100m from the house to the historic Boggy Creek Pub and have a drink on their beautiful deck overlooking the river.

Since moving here in December 2021, we have been converting various garden spaces into organic food crop growing, which we are happy to share with our guests. You might find some treats put in the villa for you to enjoy, or if you are interested in seeing what's growing at the moment please let us know and we will be happy to take you thru the garden and collect some goodies :)

Curdievale is the perfect hidden gem - only 10-15 minutes to Port Campbell, Timboon, and Peterborough where you can find restaurants, beaches, and the gourmet food trail which includes the ice creamery, distillery, and the fine cheeses of Schulz's dairy.

If you like playing on the water, there is a popular rec area 300m away from Villa Mala where you'll find a boat ramp, picnic and bbq area, and people jumping off the bridge into the river. The Curdies river is a popular boating spot with people doing barefoot skiing and fishing. Guests are welcome to bring boats and there is space for parking them if so. There is also a boat ramp for ocean goers at the Bay of Islands (10 min away).

REGARDING PETS - Please check beforehand with us about bringing animals. Pets need to be added to your booking and there will be an extra $35 fee added onto booking after confirmation.

Villa Mala is in a fantastic location, close to tourist activities on the great ocean road yet far enough away to avoid the rush of the attractions.

The accommodation is cosy and comfortable with ev...erything you could need, including the local pub open on weekends.

Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
