Looking out over the Aussie gum and banana trees and the special treat of your neighbours being only the native birds. The serenity will have you quickly forget you’re situated in a Newcastle suburb! Very nice cozy place tucked away from the crowd. Had a lovely stay here. Everything needed for private getaway was provided, couldn’t ask for more.

What an amazing stay! We felt like we were in a tropical villa somewhere, completely relaxed. The place was beautifully designed (how awesome that it has a sauna, outdoor bath (loved this) and fire p...it) and the sounds of the birds were the perfect addition to the relaxing, tropical vibe. The awesome host also helped us with some car trouble! Would 100% recommend this host and this stay, and would return again!

Blackbutt Reserve Wildlife Park

Animal lovers, rejoice! Home to some of Australia's best animals, the Blackbutt Reserve Wildlife Park is such an awesome detour on the way to Newcastle. During our trip, we managed to spot koalas (of course, everyone's favourite), wombats, peacocks, and a whole range of birds that I can't even name. An awesome way to spend an hour!

Dudley Beach

No showers, but one of the most scenic spots to get to and to have a swim/surf at. There is also some great bush walks in Glenrock reserve starting at Yeularbah Track.

Hickson Street Lookout And Picnic Spot

amazing spot for a picnic with a view! park by the water tower and take a small stroll down the trail to this epic lookout over the many beaches and glenrock reserve!

Bogey Hole

Take a picturesque swim in this heritage-listed sea bath. Grab the barrier chains on the seaward side of the baths in a moderate swell and hang on tight when a wave breaks over you!

Newcastle Ocean Baths

If you're in the need of some coastal air, Newcastle Ocean Baths might be one of my favourite baths in Australia. Big call, I know. If you're hungry after your trip, head to Darby Street which is a foodies paradise. I personally love The Autumn Rooms and Three Monkeys Cafe but honestly, you can't go wrong.

Mereweather Baths

Known as the largest ocean baths in the Southern Hemisphere, this iconic spot is well worth a visit. Grab a coffee from one of the many nearby cafes, take a seat, and watch as waves roll into the baths. Or better yet, slip in for a swim yourself - chances are, you’ll end up chatting with a few friendly locals along the way too!
