"Martin on Main" Slap bang in the centre of the Wombat State Forest, Martin on Main, a self-contained private cottage always ready on short notice and perfect for anything and everything; that romantic weekend, girl’s getaway, family outdoors adventure or a midweek escape.

Funky cottage, located in the center of Blackwood, nestled in the Wombat State Forest, only one hour from Melbourne CBD.

With an open fire and sunny veranda's it is the place for you.

If activity and endorphins are your choice, we've go it all. There are mountain bike trails you to explore as you are slap bang in the center of 3 well known MTB parks, or just roll out the gate and down the hill and see where the trail takes you. All levels of bush walking is catered for. Just walk out our front gate and wander along the Dry Diggings Trail or Anniversary and Byers Back Tracks.

- The modernised country kitchen is designed to allow you brew a coffee or cook up a storm during your relaxing time away.
- Sleeping arrangements include a romantic and iron double bed in the main bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom.
- Quality fine linen, towels, hot water bottles and snug quilts provided.
- The compact refurbished bathroom suits all ages and features a deep shower over-bath and compact washing machine to accommodate longer and perhaps more adventurous stays.
- The cottage is extremely cosy in winter with the Coonara fire in the lounge
- Sit back and unwind and watch the world go by whilst sitting on the deep verandas in the afternoon sun.

Had a lovely long weekend in this gorgeous retro cottage just down the main st of Blackwood. Great location, close to pub and cafe, but still so quiet and peaceful. Cottage is cosy, well equipped and ...the fireplace was much appreciated when the rain set in. The spring flowers in the garden, local birdlife and picturesque village made for a gorgeous setting and we'll definitely be back.

Martin on Main was just what we needed to have a country retreat and disconnect from the busy city life. The pub is super close, Martin coffee roasters was also walking distance for caffeine needs. Th...e accommodation was super cosy and we enjoyed our morning coffee in the sunroom. Lesley is SO HELPFUL and sent through a full brochure of things to see and do in the area. We loved our time at Martin on Main.

What a lovely cosy cottage with everything you need to relax in the most beautiful surroundings. Comfy beds and a cosy fire make this a great place to stay in the winter. The pub and cafes are only a ...couple of minutes walk away.
We walked the Whipstick Loop walk 5 mins drive away and visited Garden St Erth which are both highly recommended

Byers Back Track

Winding through the Lerderderg National Park along the old miners tracks (aqueducts) by the river. This track is 12.5 kms long and not a loop, it will require a car shuffle. Start at Jindarup PO finish at O'Brien's Crossing, taking about 4 hrs, feeling energetic, complete the loop.

Trentham Vibes

Trentham is a little town enclosed by forest and nature. It has really good spots to enjoy brunch or dinner – don't miss the chai at Trentham General, the sausage rolls at Redbeard, or the pizza at The Cosmo!

Wood Fire Pizzas And Vino

Great night out – we loved the pizza and the parma! The wine list is pretty good and there are a lot of fireplaces, which makes the venue really cozy.

A small walk from the car park to the Trentham Falls, where we enjoyed incredible views.

Discover the beautiful and lush Trentham Falls, Victoria's highest single-drop waterfall. The falls were formed some five million years ago by molten lava rapidly cooling as it flowed along the old Coliban River valley.
Trentham waterfall cascades 32 metres onto the quartz gravel below. Located in the Wombat State Forest, this natural wonder is particularly enchanting in winter when every moss covered rock and fern glistens with water.

The Trentham Falls Reserve, located on the Great Dividing Range is the perfect place to enjoy a picnic by the river. There are great facilities, including picnic tables, barbecues and toilets nearby.

Mountain Bike Riding

For mountain bike riding enthusiasts, it depends on your skill level and how down and dirty you want to get. You are literally in the center of the Wombat Forest and Lerderderg State Park – unmarked trails are on your doorstep.
