The hosts were evidently managing a few conflicting priorities on the weekend we stayed, and they seemed not to have checked through the accommodation's supplies before our stay. It was hard to say if... our stay was representative of the typical experience here, though.
We really loved the location, and the hosts were genuinely very friendly and seemed to be doing their best by us; we would give this place another try in future.
Nice touches:
Loved how much natural light was in the cabin. Made it feel spacious and bright.
Freshly harvested hydrangea in a vase were a lovely sight upon our arrival. Well-appointed power outlets in every room.
Folding dining table was a terrific use of small space.
We love the fenced area for our dog to run around. The dog poo compost out the back was also an excellent idea - once we were informed about it, we were more than happy to utilise it.
Host showed us where to find the chaff to feed the sheep and inquisitive alpacas. He was also kind enough to share about a few recommended walks and waterfalls nearby, and shared about some of the wildlife we might see around the area.
Appreciated the instructions beside the composting toilet.
Areas for improvement:
The listing mentioned breakfast items; eggs, milk, and some pots and pans were provided, but much was missing. Host rectified after we asked them about things like cooking oil, utensils, a kettle, bread.
Some clarity in the listing around what breakfast items are included would have allowed us to plan and pack accordingly.
Since the host was busy, it would've also been helpful to have a welcome booklet or instructions to help orientate guests with things like the fiddly stove, or the waste/compost management preferences.
The accommodation was a little run-down; the light switch in the bathroom wasn't operating reliably, and the air conditioner filter was overdue for a clean. Towels smelled noticeably musty. Being such a rainforest-friendly climate here, I think improving the ventilation with fly screens would have helped make the place feel fresher and kept insects out.

We had a lovely stay! The cabin was clean and conveniently located close to hikes and not far from Robertson town.
Definitely recommend the cascades!

If you are after a quiet getaway then this is it. Facilities are a little limited and dated but thoughtful with some fresh farm eggs and milk.
As a farm getaway it would have been nice to be given the opportunity to be shown around the farm and see what they do.

Hi, we fell in love with the Robertson area around 30 years ago when we drove through and I remember saying to my husband, 'we will live here one day'. We made the move in 2017 to this beautiful spot that is incredibly diverse with wildlife and plant life too.
We inherited an aging group of alpacas with the property, and have chickens and some sheep too. We ran a rescue organisation in the Inner West and have brought three ex colony cats who live inside with two cat enclosures and we have three small dogs, Pocket, Scout & Oni.
The plans for the farm are slowly moving along, we have purpose built indoor traing space (booking required) & a secure outdoor dog training arena where your dog can run off-leash.
Mark and I both work from home and are very happy to do the livestock feeds with you when the timing works and chat about the wildlife that is here.

Macquarie Pass
There are an ample amount of hikes in Macquarie Pass, my favourite being on the Clover Hill Trail. A 40-minute trek will bring you to a series of waterfalls, perfect for an afternoon dip.
Cooling Off At Macquarie Pass
Macquarie Pass is home to three different walks along the two rivulets that bring you to dozens of waterfalls and swimming holes - being Clover Hill Trail, Jump Rock, and Cascade Falls. We decided on Jump rock this time, a walk up the Macquarie Rivulet that brings you to tiered swimming holes with multiple rock jumps. A summer gem to help you cool off.
Organics Of Moonacres Kitchen
What sort of tour of the Southern Highlands would it be without seeing The Big Potato? Then venture into the quaint town of Robertson where you'll find Moonacres Kitchen; dedicated to homegrown produce. A casual dining experience that is commonly referenced by many top chefs around the state.
Hiking To The Jump Rocks
We are a sucker for a good hike and this one was probably one of the coolest. But you will need to be sure-footed as some of the track can be quite difficult and intimidating.
The walk starts at Macquarie Pass where you can take a few different tracks. We decided to head to jump rock falls. You follow the Macquarie Rivulet a couple of kilometres with so many different swimming holes, rock pools and waterfalls for you to choose from. You can go as far along as you like without being disappointed. This was such an amazing day.
