Byron’s coastline was once lush rainforest, much like the beachside jungles of the Daintree or Tulum. Sadly, little of our coastal forests remain. “Beach Jungle” brings the serene, cooling jungle back to Byron, with secluded pool, hot tub and expansive outdoor dining set beneath the canopy of the rainforest.
** 3BR option also available, sleeps 7: www.bit.ly/riparide3BR **
The home is a leafy haven with a large, peaceful backyard, luxe coastal furnishings and eco design featuring gorgeous recycled timber. It’s 5 minutes walk to Byron’s quiet Tallow Beach and and an easy walk or 2 minute drive to town. You'll feel instantly relaxed in the warm, comfortable rooms which feature high ceilings and oversized glass doors to let the sun stream in across the pool and tropical gardens.
The house and backyard are completely private and very peaceful, featuring:
- a pool, BBQ and outdoor dining area surrounded by tropical gardens
- a hot tub and yoga/ lounging deck under the stars
- optional bed configuration of king or 2 XL singles
- architecturally designed high ceiling living area and large dining and kitchen facilities
- eco-friendly design and products, recycled timber throughout, rustic upcycled doors and solar.
Pls note: The hot tub is seasonal – we will pre-heat and prep it for months when nights are cool (Apr-Oct). Use outside of these months can be arranged by advance requests (>1 day before check-in).

Our stay was incredible, the house was clean and tidy on arrival and had everything we needed. Chris was a great host who was contactable and polite. We would stay there again without a doubt. We had some bad weather and the garden was beautiful even in the rain.

We loved our stay at Beach Jungle. It’s a little oasis within Byron, easily walkable to town but away from the crowds.

Loved the tropical garden in the back, along with the pool and the calming spa surrounded by beautiful leaves and other gorgeous flora. The beds were comfortable and sanitary, and the living room area... was enjoyed by movie nights and just chilling around. There was an outside shower along with a barbecue where you could cook delectable meals and eat them sitting on the table while viewing the unique fauna.

I grew up in Brisbane, Australia, lived in Sydney for 7 years and New York City for 3 years. I work as a journalist and tennis coach, and love the beach and travel. I've visited Europe, the USA, Canada, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Brazil.

Brunch At General Store
This gorgeous cafe was the first establishment in Byron to ban single-use plastic and has a cosy, local vibe with great quality produce and friendly staff. We loved the vegetarian koftas and the adaptogenic cacao!
Walk To Tea Tree Lake
This easy walking track is quickly accessible from the house and took us through native bush lands to where the Tea Tree lake meets the ocean. We watched whales breaching whilst a storm rolled in over the horizon.
Surfing At Tallow Beach
The cosiest corner - offering protection from Northerlies and great surf for you and your people.
Sunrise At Tallow Beach
A quiet beach just on the other side of Wategos with great surf and marine life.
Nature Walk Tallow Beach
A short, tranquil walk from the shack through a beautiful national park leads you to Tallow Beach.
Sunset At Byron Beach
Stroll down to the main beach, sit, breathe and take it all in. You can grab food from the nearby & restaurants. The place is always humming with laughter & music and the sunsets are phenomenal. We sat and watched the sun go down as people played in the changing tides.
