We had a lovely stay in this studio at the vineyard. It was clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The peaceful vineyard surroundings made it the perfect plac...e to relax and unwind. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the check-in process was smooth. We highly recommend this place and would happily stay here again. 🍇🍷

Alt Road was a lovely, cosy, off-grid style stay. Freshly renovated and neatly thought-out, it was such a relaxing stay. We stayed on a Saturday so we could truly immerse ourselves in their open cellar door and pizzas, not having to go anywhere else.

We had the most wonderful two-night stay at this cosy studio nestled in a working winery, and it truly felt like a hidden gem during our Great Ocean Road adventure. My wife and I were looking for a pe...aceful spot to rest and recharge, and this place delivered beyond our expectations.

The location is perfect—only about 30 minutes from Torquay, making it an ideal starting point (or peaceful pause) for exploring the stunning coastline and surrounds. The studio itself is so warm and inviting: beautifully cosy, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable, home-like stay.

What made it truly special, though, was our host Katie. She’s genuinely kind, welcoming, and so easy to communicate with—her warmth made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Waking up surrounded by vines, enjoying the quiet rural charm, and just soaking in the relaxed winery atmosphere was pure magic for us as a couple.

We left with full hearts and so many lovely memories. If you're travelling the Great Ocean Road and want a heartfelt, authentic stay rather than just a place to sleep, we can't recommend this little winery studio highly enough. Thank you, Katie—we'll cherish our time there forever!

Hey, I’m Katie. Osteopath turned part-time viticulturist and winemaker along with my husband Travis at our property, Alt Road Winery. We love travel, the outdoors, our dog Billie and of course, wine!

There were no leaves on the vines, but that didn't deter us from soaking up the fruits of Blakes Estate's labour. These guys made an extremely tasty Pinot Noir that went down a treat as we walked around the vineyard.

Slow Down Take It All In

One of my favourite things about being away from the city is the beautiful landscapes you will see on your drive. The whole area is filled with large trees that surround each winding road. It's such a captivating sight, so take it all in.

Birregurra is a tiny little town packed with hidden gems. It's only a 15-minute drive from the property and home to one of the best gluten-free bakeries in Victoria. We picked up a couple of super tasty, fresh-baked chicken pesto paninis, coffees and a few supplies to test drive the local Penny Royal Berry Farm Jam we picked up on the drive down.

Hiking To An Epic Ocean View Through The Bush

Starting at Moggs Creek Picnic Area, this lovely hike through the Otway National Park is a two-hour return loop. The walk is clearly defined and slightly uphill, and there are many different varieties of trees, shrubs and bird life. Once you reach the peak, you are rewarded with the most beautiful ocean lookout.
