Tranquility awaits at our eclectic, off-grid cabin. Surrounded by Tenterfield’s iconic national parks you will feel a million miles from anywhere.

Cosy, comfy and a little quirky, The Cabin is situated in the middle of our 600 acre property on beautiful Ngarabal/Bundjalung Country.

Our commitment to sustainability and preference for minimal plastic, natural fibres, repurposing and low-waste is evident throughout. Second-hand finds and favourite vintage pieces will make you feel right at home.

Wake on a frosty morning to the local lyrebird choir, brew your beverage of choice and enjoy breakfast in the sun on the verandah.
The only decision to make is whether to explore the property; read a book by the fire or venture out and enjoy our neighbouring National Parks, local wineries & historic towns.

As part of our undertaking to accessibility, we do not increase our rates in peak times or charge a cleaning fee.
We put the utmost care and attention into making The Cabin a comfortable & welcoming space, and we ask that in return, our guests show the same consideration towards our home.

Beautiful cabin located in a serene area. The cabin was very comfortable, well supplied and clean. You can tell a lot of care and thought has gone into the design and decorations. Location surrounded by bushland and near national parks. Good privacy given you’re on a farm property.

The Cabin @ Lonesome was utterly beautiful, cosy, peaceful and the best place for a weekend away.
All the little details were SO thoughtful and made the experience that much better. The fresh loaf of... bread, eggs and pancake mix was a different touch and every little thing you could possibly need was already thought of. Very comfy bed and luxe linen sheets were an absolute plus.
Dear Vincent winery was great and always love the many hikes in the area.
Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Have already recommended to many. Thanks Amanda and Tom!

Don't even debate whether you should stay in this cabin or not - It's a definite YES! It's incredible how every detail from the pantry supplies, bed linen, fresh sourdough bread to the smell of lemon... myrtle in the air upon our arrival was so well though out. We had a beautifully relaxing stay and despite freezing temperatures in the area, we managed to remain warm and cosy.
We will definitely be back again and have already recommended it to all our friends.
Thank you!

Bald Rock National Park

Bald Rock National Park is located just 30 kilometres, or a 30-minute drive, from Tenterfield. It's the largest granite monolith in the Southern Hemisphere and a must visit when in the area. The summit walk is a 3.2-kilometre loop, which takes around 1–2 hours. You'll want to give yourself extra time to take photos and take in the views. Standing 260 metres above the surrounding bushland, Bald Rock provides stunning views of Boonoo Boonoo National Park, Girraween National Park and back across to Tenterfield.

Boonoo Boonoo National Park

Boonoo Boonoo is a beautiful national park located just near Bald Rock, so we managed to fit in visits to both parks in the same day. We discovered secluded swimming holes and a waterfall that plummets 210 metres into the gorge below. It's an easy, 10-minute walk to the viewing platform of the falls, and if you've visiting in the warmer months, be sure to take your swimmers for a dip in the swimming hole.

Swim In Natures Pool

Pack a picnic and enjoy the cool mountain waters of the rock pools at the top of Boonoo Boonoo Falls.

Bushwalking In Girraween National Park

Choose from almost 30km of walking tracks. Be sure to check out the famous Granite Arc and climb The Pyramid for amazing views over the National Park. There are also waterholes to discover along the creek.

Mount Mackenzie Lookout

Mount MacKenzie lookout is located 1,300 metres above sea level and provides some of the best views in the Northern Tablelands. It has views over Tenterfield, across to Bald Rock National Park and Girraween National Park. The carpark is located right at the lookout, so no need for a long walk. During winter, you may even be lucky enough to see snowfall up there, which is a pretty special experience.
