With majestic views from all rooms, our self-contained farm house on this 350-acre working family farm comfortably sleeps 10 guests.

At the heart of Bellevue are our pets and farm animals, and you'll meet them all personally with one-on-one hand-feeding sessions: Alana (the orphaned camel), Banjo, Victor, Andy, Belle & Sadie (the alpacas), Mopsy, Charlie, Daisy, Nibbles and Chomp (the sheep) and Bruno (the huge beef steer) who weighs a tonne - literally! Simon & Garfunkel (the miniature goats) and Bruce (the large goat) who especially love treats of apples and carrots, as do our horses. Native birds include iridescent parrots, rosellas, cockatoos, galahs, willy wagtails, kookaburras and magpies. Plus, you may also say g’day to native wildlife (koalas, echidnas, kookaburras and kangaroos) on the walking trails. Guests can also visit a rotary dairy farm where 340 cows are milked.

An easy 2 1/2 hour drive (or train ride) from Melbourne, Bellevue Farmstay is just 20 minutes from the breathtaking Great Ocean Road and world-famous Shipwreck Coast featuring the Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge, Port Campbell National Park, London Bridge and the Bay of Islands at Peterborough. Pick your own delicious strawberries at the nearby Timboon township, famous for the historic Timboon to Camperdown Rail Trail. Explore the amazing volcanic lakes and craters at Camperdown or the magnificent ferns and soaring forests of the Great Otway National Park.

We had an absolutely beautiful stay at Bellevue! The hospitality was next level- from being greeted on arrival, to a fully stocked fire ready to light, a wonderful tour of the farm animals, and even s...ome fresh eggs to take home.

The house was bigger than we expected and full of that charming old farmhouse character. It was spotless, and the electric blankets on the beds were such a cozy touch.

In the town of Timboon, you must check out the ice cream shop and the Timboon Railway Shed Distillery- we had a beautiful lunch there and a magnificent tour of the distillery too!

We couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and relaxing stay and we can’t wait to come back!

I grew up on Bellevue as one of the "three Couch girls" and proud 5th generation Couch family members now helming the Farmstay (you'll also meet my twin sisters Lisa and Amanda onsite). My strongest memories are of shearing time in the old woolshed, riding horses through paddocks to check on stock, hand-rearing lambs with bottled milk, our soft-hearted mum taking in orphaned animals from around the district and our generous dad giving backpackers - lost along the Great Ocean Road - a free bed and hot meal for the night. Which is the beginnings of Bellevue Farmstay almost 20 years ago. We're new to Riparide but have been hosting families at our family farm and are now welcoming back grandchildren of original guests. From our family to yours....

Lunch At Timboon Distillery

Timboon's renowned whisky distillery is a must. The food was outstanding, which we shared family style and followed with a whisky flight digestif to cap it off.

Whisky Tasting In Timboon

A definite highlight of our trip - is whisky tasting in Timboon! The friendly and knowledgeable staff were able to recommend some delicious Australian whiskies (and cocktails) to try, and even accommodated our puppy. The tasting platter was excellent and we even grabbed a bottle of local whisky on our way out.

Timboon Rail Trail

Starting in the centre of Timboon town the Rail Trail runs 34km's to Camperdown via the former railway line. It’s around 5km of fairly easy riding through the scenic bush to the first historic trestle bridge then, pending your crew’s biking stamina, on to other dramatic crossings. Be sure to pack some drinks and supplies.
