Loved all the little areas at YellowBoxWood and fun things to do with our very active two boys 3 and 8 years old. The owners have been so thoughtful about the experience with lots of surprises to disc...over. The lush safari tents with luxury beds and bed nook for the kids made for a magical/comfortable stay, and the mineral pool was an oasis amongst the stunning hills, (kangaroos at one point) and bush. We brought our bikes to do the rail trail but there were marked tracks around the property too which was really fun. Would be fun to book both tents next time and come as a group. Loved it all. Thank you Andee and Lisa.

What a special little place! Very spacious tent with everything you need including super comfortable beds. We loved having a fire and toasting our marshmallows. The location is perfect for exploring the area, and Andee and Lisa (hosts) are just wonderful. A perfect getaway. Highly recommend!

Gentle Stroll Around The Yellowboxwood Property
Wander the 100acres of the property - you will find different environments including dams, open grasslands and the beautiful Box-Ironbark forest, which contains magnificent trees, birdlife and wild-flowers. At dusk and dawn there is a high chance of seeing kangaroo close to your tents and occasionally emu too.

Heathcote Graytown National Park
There are hundreds of kilometres of trails in the adjacent National Park. Although off-road most are fairly easy riding on graded gravel roads. You can literally ride from the property to Rushworth (if you choose) - without going anywhere near a tarrred road
Bushwalking
This National Park is a great place for bushwalks. Mt Ida, Mt Black and Viewing Rock provide views of Heathcote and surrounding areas. The park also has a rich history with relics from the gold rush and war era to discover at Graytown. Melvilles Lookout is a prominent ridge where Captain Melville reputably waited in ambush for miners during the gold rush.
Vinea Marson Winery
Delicious antipasto platters and splendid wine with views of the vineyards, what more could you want?
Mt Ida Lookout
Hike up to the top via Mount Ida Rd/Lookout Road loop or drive up for a short steep walk to the lookout where you can admire views of Heathcote and Lake Eppalock.
Mt Ida Lookout
Enjoy a short walk with beautiful views over Heathcote. We went during sunrise and the sun rose behind us through the trees. I'd expect it is even more special at sunset.
Viewing Rock Lookout
Complete the Viewing Rock circuit walk and admire the views of Heathcote and surrounding areas from the rock. Also a great spot for a picnic.
