Beautiful place to relax in, especially with the log fire going. We had a wonderful time here and the property is gorgeous. Saw some wallabies. Nearest town Dungog is very cute and had an amazing cafe and bakery.

Lovely, relaxing place with an array of local wildlife and Aussie bush. It was great to switch off for a few days and explore the surrounding Barrington Tops NP for some hikes and running. A swim in t...he Allyn River was refreshing with the Summer heat! The cabin itself has everything you need for cooking, and has a cosy feel to it!

Wildlife On The Property
Staying at Bluegums is all about nature. It's so close you can enjoy from your cabin as the wildlife is all around you. Our cabins are set on 180 acres which you are free to wander and explore. As you wander you will see wallabies, pademelons and water-dragons. Regular bird visitors include the satin bower bird, black cockatoos, king parrots and wattle birds as well as magpies and kookaburras. Two of our guests awoke to 2 owls sleeping in the tree outside their cabin so you never know your luck.
Chichester Dam
The water lifeline to many areas such as Maitland, Cessnock and Beresfield. The Chichester Dam is a great location to have a picnic, check out the dam wall and the river itself. Walk on top of the dam wall and look down on the water beneath or take the walking track down to the bottom of the reservoir for a different perspective.
Walk To Chichester Dam
Wander up to Chichester Dam. It’s a pleasant walk and despite being in the middle of a beautiful declared wilderness area it is quite an impressive structure. You will see and hear plenty birds along this walk. There are toilets, a bbq area and hot water for tea facilities here.
A Short Walk Became An All Day Adventure
We ventured out thinking this was just a little waterfall near a car park. There are two car parks at either end of a stretch of creek, so it can either be a quick stop or a few hours. There was so much to explore. We walked up the creek from the top of the main falls and found more beautiful cascades and swimming pools, we didn't see a single person!
