Lovely little getaway. We loved seeing the wombats and kangaroos and hearing the kookaburras laugh!
We were a bit unfortunate with the weather but it would be so perfect in the sunshine!

Situated in a beautiful, peaceful and isolated piece of land in amongst the forrest. My partner and I enjoyed some down time to allow us to reset after a busy 6 months.
First time that we have stayed... in a tiny home, something we have wanted to do and are happy that we did so.
We enjoyed the outdoor bath, utilised each night of our stay. We had slow mornings with a coffees in hand, as well was able to head out for a run along the dirt roads with little to no traffic which both of us need that exercise fix.
It took some time getting used to, but the eco system bathroom is something that guests have to adjust too.
Short drive into Daylesford, we did this daily to spend some time in the community and check out the local stores. Ie - Mill market, cafes and gift shops.
Generally what we needed, a reset of the nervous systems.

Porcupine Ridge
We asked our wonderful host Angeline if she had any recommendations for scenic drives in the area and she recommended Porcupine Ridge Road without hesitation. Naturally, we follow her advice and we definitely weren't disappointed. The entree to Porcupine Ridge Road is only about a 10-minute drive from Poets lodge and you can drive it to end in about 30 minutes.
The entire time we were surrounded by rolling grass hills (think Windows screensaver green hills), the sound of birds, castles and absolutely no cars or people in sight. We stopped multiple times along the road to just take in the country air and soak in the sights.

Pizza At Farmers Arms Hotel
We drove to Daylesford for lunch, having amazing pizza and beer at the Farmers Arms Hotel.
Pub Meal At The Farmers Arms
The food and vibes are what you want in a small country pub — quality dishes in a cosy environment.
Daylesford Sunday Market
The weekly Sunday markets offer everything from old coins and handmade soaps to fresh local produce. We found some keepsakes to take home, inspired by our stay at the barn.
Befriending Wildlife At Lake Jubilee
We headed off to Lake Jubilee for a kayak session. However, kayaks were unavailable that day. We still spent a beautiful time befriending the ducks, peacocks and the fairytale landscape.
Daylesford Sunday Market
A weekly market with an array of stallholders ranging from handmade goods, bric a brac and local produce.
