What a magical place ✨️
First of all A+ hosts. Jessie and Jay are easy to communicate with and their attention to detail is fantastic. Thank you for an easy check in, the welcome book explaining eve...rything and the snacks.
The views from Forest Retreat are stunning. Such a tranquil place atop the hillside surrounded by lush rainforest. We had some friendly kookaburras and Rosella's stop by to say hello.
Beds are extremely comfortable with all linnens, bedding and plenty of pillows.
We did not use it, but the sauna with the views is just gorgeous.
Definitely recommend 👌

Wow what a gorgeous retreat! A great location and a cozy, welcoming home away from home :) the perfect place to unwind in nature for a few days. Lovely evening dinners on the decks surrounded by the beautiful gums and joined by rosellas and kookaburras! Will hopefully get to come back again!

Proserpina Bakehouse
After failing at baking a 1st birthday cake for our son, we took the 30-minute trek on foot up into Sassafras village to drop by Proserpina Bakery which has some of the most mouth-watering bakery goods around. Everything from bread fresh out of the oven to pies, pastries, tarts, treats, relishes, jams, chocolates and more importantly, cakes. So good, we ate there twice that day!

It was one of those nights where good company, a roaring fire, and a little festive magic made the cold feel like part of the celebration. Nights like these remind you — it’s not just about the date on the calendar, it’s about the moments you share.

We had such a wonderful experience at Maria Café in Upwey. The staff were warm, accommodating and genuinely helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The menu offered an impressive selection of food options, making it hard to choose just one. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommended for anyone passing through the area.
Cocktails At Killik
Nestled at the entrance of the Sherbrooke Forest we indulged in a delightful experience at Killik with a couple of cocktails, surrounded by happy locals. Friendly staff, captivating views, and expertly crafted cocktails made our trip here the perfect blend of natural beauty and satisfying indulgence.
