'Tess' Tiny House

'Tess' is nestled in an elevated position in the Tweed Valley before native forest, with views to the MacPherson Ranges, which form part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. The property is conveniently located within a 10 minute drive to the town of Murwillumbah, set in the tweed caldera, and 20 minute drive from the iconic Wollumbin Mount Warning (the remnant aperture of an ancient volcano).

Enjoy a simpler life by relaxing on the lower deck with a coffee, basking in the winter sun on the pool deck before taking a plunge in the fresh-water pool. Wake up to the stunning view from the loft bed, accessible by ladder, or if preferred, comfortably sleep two people on the ‘plush koala’ sofa on the lower platform of the tiny house. Appreciate the birdlife feeding amongst the native landscape, including black cockatoos and a family of wedge-tailed eagles souring above, admire the echidna’s foraging in the forest behind the house, and even spot a wallaby feeding in the paddocks below if you're lucky!

Tess is a small space for four people. Two people is ideal. One queen bed in the loft, the second double bed is the fold out sofa, which minimises sitting space when set up as a bed. Cute but cosy 🙂

We had a great stay at Tess, such a beautiful little getaway. We loved the birds, the scenic views, and the pool. Being able to relax either in bed or on the lounge made it even better. Thanks again for having us! Mitch & Sam

One of the best getaways I have ever been to. Erin was such a lovely host and answered all my questions and requests straight away. The tiny home was so cozy and secluded yet still close enough to the... shops in case we needed anything. Would love to come back here and definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay

My name is Erin. I am fortunate to have grown up in the beautiful Tweed Valley. I am a health care professional, mother of two, best friend and wife to an amazing partner. Together with our family, we work hard to enjoy the simple things in life and appreciate our piece of paradise. As an animal lover, I have an appreciation for our native wildlife, and compassion for our domestic fury friends :)

Chillingham waterfall can be accessed by steep steps from side of Zara road leading down to a small waterfall.

Glow Worms

The Glow worm tunnel is an amazing and unforgettable adventure along the abandoned railway line that starts 2 km further down Tunnel Rd from the property to the end of the valley. The tunnel is 500m long and the walk along the track is 2.5 km each way. The glow worms can only be seen at night, so the walk is recommended as an evening activity.

Kayaking On Clarrie Hall Dam

Clarrie hall dam is so picturesque it felt like we were in a scene from the sound of music! We had the whole dam to ourselves and took out one of the kayaks that were by the shore, it was a beautiful day and so peaceful out on the water. Please note it’s not recommended to swim in the water at the dam due to algae but it’s still a beautiful spot to picnic or go for a kayak on the dam.
Palmers Road Swimming Hole

Palmers Road Swimming Hole

There is a little roadside swimming hole and waterfall along Kyogle Road just outside of Mount Burrell (north of Nimbin) on the Tweed River. It’s a nice place to cool down (especially on a humid day) if you are passing through the Nimbin area.
