Hosting Families
Things you might like to know if traveling with children.
We have not marked our listing as “kid friendly” - this is mainly because the property features high-quality furnishings and delicate finishes that require a bit of extra care. We’re more than happy to welcome well-supervised children, and many families have enjoyed our home as a relaxing getaway.
Of course, children will be children, and while we completely understand that, we do ask that guests are mindful to avoid any accidental damage or need for extra cleaning, as this would incur additional charges.
Also, our property is set on 11 acres of pastures and forest. Kangaroos pass by the house to graze morning and night - recently, as it’s so dry they tend to come closer to the house where it is greener. They are beautiful to watch, but worth a mention in case children are wary of animals. They are wild animals and should not be fed or approached. There is also a creek on our property (which is usually dry, but sometimes has flow after heavy rain).

Lovely house in the outskirts of Aireys inlet. It was set up well to cook, lounge and enjoy the views. The outdoor eating areas and gardens are lovely as is the house itself.

I'm a nature and outdoor loving artist, who spends my free time planting trees at our beautiful retreat at Aireys Inlet. I love travel, skiing and hiking! And of course hosting our fabulous guests.

Stand Up Paddle
Painkalac Creek Estuary is approximately 3.5km in length. It is a beautiful coastal lagoon system, which attracts the spotted green frog and the eastern banjo frog (Pobblebonk). Drift along the estuary and experience soak up the peace and tranquillity. Hire or bring your own canoe, kayak or stand up paddleboard.

Surfing Great Ocean Road
We headed to Urquharts Bluff just past Anglesea for a surf on Sunday morning. Although the water was too icy for us girls the boys got kitted up and headed out.
French Baked Goods
We grabbed ourselves some French baked goods from Le Comptoir which was full of sweet distractions! Ha! We took them back to our beach abode and enjoyed them over a nice cuppa tea on the deck!
Cake And Coffee At Le Comptoir
We pulled in after a surf in Aireys Inlet to grab a bite before heading on to our destination. Such a great spot! We had heard great things about this French deli and restaurant and were not disappointed.
The cakes and baguettes are amazing, made from quality ingredients and so tasty and fresh. The coffee and vibes were on point. We will be heading back for dinner next time we're on the Great Ocean Rd. WOW.

Surfing
The only readily accessible beach is Aireys Inlet Beach (322), which is located at the mouth of a gully. It has a small car park, and steps down to the beach from the end of Eagle Rock Parade. There are beach breaks over the bars and southern reefs.
