Pet-friendly
Escape to one of our two pet-friendly cottages in the heart of the Otways. Surrounded by National Park, the Nature Lodge offers a unique farm-stay experience with friendly animals to hand-feed, forest views and a cosy wood fire. Modern comforts include a barista-style coffee machine and fast Starlink internet. Explore nearby waterfalls, spot platypus at Lake Elizabeth, discover Forrest and its famous mountain bike trails, or enjoy the beaches of Apollo Bay and the Great Ocean Road.
The Nature Lodge is a split level open plan cottage, featuring three comfortable bedrooms, including two open plan loft bedrooms and one downstairs bedroom. Each furnished with a queen-sized bed, premium bedding and an electric blanket to keep you warm and toasty during the cooler Otway nights.
The spacious open-plan living, dining and kitchen area is designed for relaxing and spending time together. The fully equipped kitchen includes everything you need to prepare meals during your stay, including a full-sized fridge and freezer, gas oven, microwave and barista-style coffee machine.
After a day exploring the Otways, relax by the cosy wood fire, enjoy a board game with family and friends, or simply take in the views from the comfort of the lodge. If you don’t wish to switch off from the world, there’s fast Starlink internet allowing you to stay connected while enjoying the tranquillity of nature.
Step outside to your private covered entertaining area, complete with BBQ facilities and an outdoor fire pit (available outside fire danger periods). From here you can enjoy sweeping views across the farm and surrounding forest.
Dogs are warmly welcomed both inside and outside the lodge. A fully fenced and secure yard provides plenty of space for children and pets to play and explore safely.
During your stay, you’re welcome to explore much of our 32-acre farm, including the walking trails that lead down to the creek in the valley below. You’re also welcome to meet and hand-feed our friendly farm animals, including sheep, goats and chickens.
The property is home to two separate guest accommodations, The Nature Lodge and the Country Cottage (https://www.riparide.com/listings/224-top-of-the-otways-country-cottage), which are located a comfortable distance apart to provide privacy for all guests. Each accommodation has its own dedicated outdoor areas and parking.
A communal guest laundry is available on request. Please contact us during your stay and we’ll happily show you where it is and how everything works.
As this is a working farm and our family home, some sheds, paddocks and operational areas are reserved for private use. We simply ask guests to respect any signed areas and enjoy the rest of the property responsibly.
We acknowledge the Gadubanud People of the Eastern Maar Nation as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land on which we live and gather. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

The area was stunning! We had 3 couples, 3 dogs and a baby. It was perfect for us all to hang out by the fire, play board game, walk the property, feed the goats. Loved our time here. Max and Katie were also so great.

Absolutely loved our stay here! Such a special spot in the Otways to completely unplug and unwind. There are sheep, goats and chickens to visit on the property. Feeding the goats in the morning was ea...sily a highlight.
We spent our evenings cooking, sipping wine, and making full use of both indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Having the indoor fire going kept things super cozy inside, and sitting out by the fire pit under the stars was pure magic.
The kitchen was well stocked, and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud.
The property itself is stunning, quiet, and felt like our own little private sanctuary. A short drive to Apollo Bay and also beautiful waterfalls in the region.

What a beautifup, beautiful place to stay. The whole family had a truly wonderful experience from the get go! Katie and Max are such accommodating hosts and made us feel welcomed and comfortable throu...ghout. The location and the serenity of the place just speaks for itself. The accommodation is impeccably clean and well thought out, with everything stocked up. Literally everything! From toilet rolls, to cleaning gears, to coffees and safety items, we were truly impressed. They set up the fireplace so that we didn't have to worry about it for the first night, ample of firewood available for both inside and outside fireplaces too. The stars at night was amazing! The farm animals in the morning was amazing! Decent walk/hike around the property as well leading to a small creek. Apollo Bay town and Forrest is easily accessible too with plenty to do in both those areas. And we had the GOR bike race on the morning of checkout so roads were closed, and Max was so kind to allow us to simply stay as long we needed to until we can safely use the roads again. Such thoughtful and friendly hosts. Definitely will be going again! ❤️
