COTTAGE DETAILS
Blue Fig Cottage is a spacious and luxury two bedroom cottage designed to provide guests with a unique travel experience surrounded by nature.

The cottage includes a large indoor wood burning fire, free standing claw foot bath, large covered verandah with great views, fire pit area and a complete kitchen including full size fridge, gas oven, cook top and 6 person kitchen table. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and french doors leading onto the front verandah which overlooks manicured lawns, rainforest and lily ponds.

The bathroom includes a separate shower and 1.9m long free standing bath with a view. Heating can be drawn into the bathroom from the indoor fire to provide a perfect long bath on the colder nights. A separate WC is located close to the bathroom.

Nightcap Ridge is more than just accommodation, the property has so much to offer including walks through the many rainforest tracks, swims in Boomerang Creek or an evening campfire under the stars. The property provides a complete 'off grid' experience and no connection with the outside world, our power is created by solar and fresh spring water from the National Park provides guests with pure mountain spring water. There are over 75 fruit and nut trees on the property, and a kitchen garden to pick seasonal ingredients. More than 60+ bird species enjoy the grounds of Nightcap Ridge.

Please note the cottage is set up with a DVD player and TV. DVDs are supplied however as an off grid property the TV is not set up to pick up any TV channels. Satellite internet access can be provided for an additional $50 however for a complete digital detox we recommend guests enjoy an internet free stay.

The grounds of the property are there to explore, including the kitchen garden and orchards.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Guests love to eat at Doma Cafe in Federal which has amazing sushi, salads and burgers, further eating treats include Harvest in Newybar, Flock in Lismore or The Loft in Lismore. For pub food the Dunoon Sports Club has a courtesy bus to/from Nightcap Ridge and serves food daily from 5pm-9pm.

Great coffee can be grabbed from the General Store in Clunes or Moonshine Coffee Roasters in Federal.

Blue Fig Cottage offers luxury accommodation that is both beautiful in design and comfortable/functional, situated in magnificent country. Particularly suited to those needing to re-connect with natur...e. For those happy lounging on your deck experiencing your very own 24/7 reality-program of nature and symphony of birdsong; or those who love meandering (like we do) along some of the best trails we've experienced to endless waterfalls; or those who care to position themselves in comfort by your private fire-pit with a glass of something fine to admire your sunset. What you've created is a gift to us all, thank you! P.S. We also fell deeply in love with Winston (owners' beyond-beautiful dog). We'll be back soon, promise! Megan & Michael.

What an amazing spot! Well-equipped kitchen, hotel quality bedding & towels, amazing fireplace and pre-axed hardwood made lighting the fire a breeze. Amazing vista from the balcony overlooking a grass field / dam & national park. Thanks Fraser, we had an great experience.

Bushwalking

While the surrounding parks are beautiful and offer endless scope for nature based adventurers, many guests to Nightcap Ridge do not venture far away at all as there is plenty to explore right here at your door step. Guests enjoy the varied landscape of Nightcap Ridge itself with its rainforest, permanent creek, forested ridges, gullies, lily ponds, dams and easy walks. There are also beautiful natural swimming holes and further walking trails just outside the front gate.

Wildlife On The Property

Nightcap Ridge is actively managed to enhance and protect its flora and fauna. Significant species such as Koala, Little Bent Wing Bat, Wompoo Fruit Dove, Rose Pigeon, Rifle Bird, Bower Birds, Owls, Lace Monitor (Goanna), Swamp Wallaby and Pademelons and many others are found here.

Minyon Falls

It’s only a short walk to the lookout from the carpark. There is also a loop walk that takes you to the base of the falls where you can take a lovely dip in the freshwater.

The property is within a few kilometres of Minyon Falls which is an amazing waterfall and swimming hole, great for an afternoon in the sun.

Whian Whian Falls

Located just outside of the town of Dunoon in the Northern Rivers, Whian Whian Falls is a great spot for a picnic and swim. Once you have parked there is a small dirt track along a property fence. If you follow that well-worn path, it will lead you straight to paradise.

Nightcap Ridge National Park

A stay provides guests with a comfortable base for experiencing the surrounding National Park and Conservation Area. The National Park, which is World Heritage listed, and Conservation area are known for their flora and fauna including many rare and endangered species, dominant massifs, cliffs, lush green gullies and waterfalls.

Doma Cafe

This Japanese/Aussie fusion cafe was the best place to enjoy a sunny arvo with the kids. The staff are beautiful and the food is AMAZING!

Bangalow

Plenty of great cafes/restaurants, unique local stores and gorgeous galleries to explore. Bangalow is a great little town with a lot of hidden little gems.
