Additional Information

Our farm is approximately 500 acres in size with the Severn River running along our southern & western boundary. The landscape is a combination of bush and granite rock along with areas of grazing country.
Being off grid, the cabin runs on solar with battery back up. Gas is utilised for cooking & hot water. We have allowed sufficient solar panels and batteries to ensure that whilst you have to watch your power usage we are able to offer fridge, microwave, coffee machine and toaster.

Inside we have a super comfy king sized bed with hotel quality mattress topper. The kitchenette is set up with all you need to cater for yourself.
The deck at the front houses the Webber Baby Q for outside cooking whilst inside you have the convenience of a gas cook top. A wood fire inside will keep you warm on the coldest of nights.

The rear deck over looks the wood fire pit and down to the river.
The cabin has been securely fenced which allows you to bring your furry friend - dogs only.
They are welcome in the cabin as long as they have their own beds and keep off the furniture.
They can go on walks with you - leased or unleashed if you feel they won't run away.

Be aware that it is unlikely you will see any platypus if you have your dog with you. They can stay in the fenced yard if you feel they won't dig out while you go platypus watching.
Dog minding is available if you wish to venture out to the local National parks.

Please Note: The solar system is not sufficient to recharge an electric vehicles or additional plug in heavy use electrical appliances. .

Platypus Patrol Exploring The River Trails

One of the highlights of staying at Platypus Eco Retreat is walking the tracks that wind through the property.
Keep your eyes peeled for wallabies, listen to the birdsong and the gentle flow of the river beside you. Sit quietly and if you’re lucky, you might just spot one of the elusive platypuses that call this place home.

Even without a sighting, it’s a beautiful walk, with hidden clearings and picnic spots along the way. A picnic backpack is provided in the cabin, so you can take your breakfast or lunch with you as you explore.
