This is a home built with intention, where architecture meets the landscape in quiet harmony. The garden blends seamlessly into the bush, creating a deep sense of peace that unfolds the longer you stay.

Wake to birdsong and the soft glow of morning light. Wander to the seasonal Kangaroo Creek or share dinner in the outdoor dining space beneath the gums. As evening falls, the forest hushes and the stars appear, best admired from the outdoor bath.

Inside, every room invites rest and reflection, with thoughtful touches that bring warmth and stillness. Just ten minutes from Daylesford, yet a world away, Wildwood is a place to breathe, to restore, and to simply be.

Additional Information

Wildwood is nestled deep in the forest, surrounded by six acres of native bushland. With that comes peace, privacy, and the occasional visit from kangaroos and kookaburras.

Mobile reception can be limited, so please save your check-in details offline before you travel. Wi-Fi is available once you arrive and can be used to make mobile calls if needed.

The outdoor bath is one of Wildwood’s most-loved features. We’re on tank water, so we kindly ask that it’s used in moderation.

There’s ample parking on-site, and if you plan to charge an EV, please let us know in advance - a small additional fee applies.

On catastrophic fire danger days, bookings may need to be cancelled for guest safety. We appreciate your understanding should this occur.

We take a hands-off approach to hosting, allowing you to enjoy the stillness of your surroundings in peace. Should you need any assistance, our local housekeeper is nearby and happy to help.

We had a wonderful stay at Wildwood. The house is set amongst the gums and is as beautifully renovated as it is equipped with everything you need to truely disconnect from the world.

The outdoor fir...e pit area got a lot of use, as did the deep couch in the lounge in front of the fire while listening to a record.

The bedrooms felt luxurious and the heated bathroom floors were welcome on a chilly morning.

Jack was awesome. Helpful, responsive, and had clearly thought about how the house could best be enjoyed.

We would highly recommend Wildwood to anyone looking for a luxurious break from the busyness of life!

I’m a primary school teacher by week and a maker and renovator at heart. Creating Wildwood has been a labour of love, shaped slowly by hand and guided by the forest around it. Porcupine Ridge

We asked our wonderful host Angeline if she had any recommendations for scenic drives in the area and she recommended Porcupine Ridge Road without hesitation. Naturally, we follow her advice and we definitely weren't disappointed. The entree to Porcupine Ridge Road is only about a 10-minute drive from Poets lodge and you can drive it to end in about 30 minutes.

The entire time we were surrounded by rolling grass hills (think Windows screensaver green hills), the sound of birds, castles and absolutely no cars or people in sight. We stopped multiple times along the road to just take in the country air and soak in the sights.

Glenlyon General Store

Great pitstop for coffee and a chance to create your own picnic hamper! This store is loaded with ALL the local produce and snack goodness!

A quant general store on the main road into Glenlyon, stop off after the falls for food & coffee, local produce & wine.

The food and vibes are what you want in a small country pub — quality dishes in a cosy environment.

Loddon Falls

Just a short drive from the small village of Glenlyon you will find the beautiful Loddon Falls. Follow the dirt road through farmland until you reach the gate to the reserve. Park the car and take the track to the information board, from here walk towards the river to find the rocky track down to the falls. Be rewarded with picturesque views of the falls. A great place to for a swim to cool off in summer.

The weekly Sunday markets offer everything from old coins and handmade soaps to fresh local produce. We found some keepsakes to take home, inspired by our stay at the barn.
