Additional Information
Nestled under Nightcap and Jerusalem National parks on a dirt road, your 'zombie' is sunny and faces a jurassic volcanic plug. In your private natural amphitheatre, surrounded by lush ancient rainforest and world heritage listed ancient rainbow serpent mountains you will feel the magic and healing powers of this magnificent country.
Go to sleep to the sound of frogs and night critters around the water hole and wake up to the most incredible bird sanctuary. You will feel like you are stepping back in time and a long way away from it all.
Our very old cottage is slowly being restored with lots of chill spots to soak in the amazing vista. It will feel a bit like an exotic holiday with your outdoor bathroom and peacock looking in.
The cottage has two bedrooms, extra comfy mattresses, super silent modern ceiling fans, lounge dining with sensational views, country kitchen, gas oven and wrap around verandahs lounges and breathtaking views. Bring your books and paintbrushes! Oh and gardening tools depending on how long you will stay, there is plenty of wood to chop to make your indoor or outdoor fire.
The open bathroom is adjacent to master bed or also accessed by verandah, please note has a primitive 'bush' drop composting toilet and lush velvet stage curtain for privacy or the best loo view you have ever seen. History claims the mountain is a portal so while you are busy, look out for aliens and dinosaurs..
Please also note our wifi IS fine but NOT unlimited.
Guest access
Guests have full access to zombie cottage, acres of wild bush adventures and walks within the property (excluding cabin areas). You will also love the private creeks, the main one on our boundary smashed by a kilometre landslide last year but the pristine swimming holes just got bigger! Enjoy your own private nature trails on the property, bring your mountain bike, kayak on the dam, pet our free range farmyard animals (hugging the famous steer 'Balls' a must) test your lungs or instrument in the natural amphitheatre, do some bush regen or help us restore and rebuild our orchard and gardens.
Other things to note
As the landslide took out our entrance including the bridge and remains unbuilt, we are still in repair mode with drive to door weather permitting. The crossing is currently 2WD drivable (see photo) but at worst may be impassable, making walk in required. Parking then would be one side of creek and either I pick you up on a tractor or tough it and carrying your gear about 500m up to the house... either way it will be an adventure arriving in another world and dimension...'the land before time' didn't have cars either.
You are of course welcome to arrive by hot air balloon, bush plane or helicopter!
We are a fully organic farm at the foot of national park so please bring only your loved up natural products and be responsible to take all your rubbish away at the end of your stay.
Our nearest town is Uki and Mt Wollumbin Hotel, 25 mins by car and Nimbin is about 35 mins. Coming from Tweed you will also come through the vibrant Murwillumbah. You are required to BYO all food and drinks (double filtered drinking water provided and offerings from farm as available) . On water the cottage has mineral invested spring dam water so your invigorating outdoor bath may be slightly coloured.
If you'd like a longer retreat, get stuck or feel you need to unplug for longer we love exchanges, let's talk!
Absolutely no party policy, cos we are waiting for the big one. Get on our email list.

I wasn't going to leave a review, but I did email Riparide to pass on our thoughts privately and didn't receive any response. While the location is beautiful, there's some pretty big maintenance issue...s with the property, and smaller things like lightbulbs need to be replaced all over. While the surfaces in the property were clean, there were cobwebs everywhere (filled with dust) including a thick layer of dust on the fans and light fixtures and places like behind the TV. The TV was broken (which the host knew but didn't tell us in advance - how we found the dust and cobwebs there) and overall a few small issues put a bit of a damper on what should have been a beautiful weekend. I hope these issues are fixed as they truly are easy!

The Majestic Animals Of Nightcap
Exploring the property of Nightcap Exchange was one of the most special, nourishing and grounding experiences we had during our stay in Doon Doon. You'd swear you were in Jurassic park, surrounded by mountainous rocks, boulders, horses, goats, dogs, a beautiful steer called Ballz, and a peacock (you read correctly). You'll want to spend plenty of time with them, and it'll be reciprocated! The animals will want plenty of kisses and cuddles, so make sure you're an animal person!
Outdoor Equipment Provided
Enjoy the outdoors with the following equipment included in your stay.
Yoga mat (2)
Kayak (1)
Bike (1)
You will love the untouched creeks (the main one recently smashed by 2km landslide only for the intrepid) and swimming holes. We are slowly opening up more private nature trails on the property lots of wild bush to explore. There is a mountain bike or byo, and kayak on the dam, or take a private safari with our free range animals (who sometimes like to come in the house).

Here are some details about the adventures nearby. Refer to the map for their location.
Minyon Falls
The Minyon Falls walking track is within the Nightcap National Park. The track is a great way for those visiting the Byron Bay area to experience its rich natural beauty. Lush ferns and dense rainforest surround the creek. The track leads to stunning views of the waterfall from the Minyon Falls lookout. From the lookout, there are picnic areas to enjoy lunch with a view.
Feasting In The Quaint Town Of Nimbin
Known as the cannabis capital of Australia, here you'll find plenty of Mary Jane's treats amongst beautiful flora and fauna. If that's not your thing, you can also find quirky apothecaries, jewelers and cafes in the small town of Nimbin, we decided to take a break and have lunch at The Feast cafe to rest our feet. Here we had outstanding falafel pita wraps the size of your head and were well and truly impressed by the quality and the cost. Come with an empty stomach!
Kayaking Brunswick River
Explore the clear waters of the Brunswick River, which feeds Cape Byron. Launch your kayak in the Brunswick Heads Township before venturing into the surrounding wetlands, abundant with native wildlife. Paddle all the way to neighbouring town Mullumbimby, stopping along the way to have a fish, swims or relax on a sandy bank.
Emerald Swimming Basin
We decided to visit Hanging Rock Falls, here you will find a stunning deep emerald swimming basin, robust rocks hugging the basin and beautiful vegetation. A lovely quiet spot to ponder and appreciate nature's beauty.
