PLEASE NOTE
We are a family with a toddler (2 years of age) and are reasonably athletic and fit and have no troubles getting to our beloved weekend cabin. We have had visitors ranging from young families with babies ranging from 2 months to 3 years, to baby boomers (of average fitness) in their late 60s who have found the ascent and beach crossing fine.
If you are unfit, have health concerns, or suffer from injuries, this is probably not the property for you as it does involve a beautiful 300 metre beach crossing, followed by a mesmerising view as you ascend 128 small stairs (good for your health tracker) when you find yourself at our front door.
The right preparations will make the 10 minute journey from the jetty comfortable. We have a couple of good backpacks (Patagonia and Filson) which keeps our hands free for our toddler and enables maximum volume and weight to be carried to the house. You can also borrow (and return) a wheelbarrow on the shore to help with the 300m beach crossing.
A couple of things to note about the house: as we are secluded in the beautiful National Park of Ku-ring-Gai we operate on tank water and as such as very mindful of water use. We have several filters to ensure the water is as pure as possible (and given the Eucalyptus leaves on roofs and water collection points a tannin stain is sometimes visible in the water). As such we make bottled water available for you.
We are also on a septic system, so again encourage you to be environmentally conscious and limit your showers to a maximum of 5 minutes each (you also have the choice of a beautiful refreshing swim in Pittwater)....
