Additional Information
ECO CABIN DETAILS
We have created a unique self contained private cabin. It is self sufficient with Solar power and stored rainwater and has used recycled materials and sustainable bamboo flooring.
The Eco-Cabin is set within a 100 acre property in the edge of a native grass cattle paddock and up against a ridgeline of trees.
Guests will have access to the entire Eco-Cabin and its surroundings.
ACCESS
Getting to the Eco-Cabin involves crossing a steep gully and then winding your way up a meandering road. While standard vehicles can do this drive quite easily some people may be a bit reluctant, so please let us know what sort of vehicle you will be arriving in as having a 4WD / AWD vehicle does make the access road much easier?
The last section of the access road to the Eco-Cabin is not too rough or steep, we have guests in the past who had Minis, Hyundai i20s and Toyota Yaris’ who had no problems. The key is to just take it slowly and keep an eye out for the narrow crossing and the two small “speed bumps” coming up the last hill.
PETS
Pets are allowed to accompany guests to The Ridge Eco-Cabin, with prior notification and approval only and subject to various conditions.
The Eco-Cabin area is fenced to keep the cattle out (not dogs in).
If guests are intending to bring a pet onto the property, The Ridge management must be informed at the time of booking.
Pets must be supervised at all times when inside, AND must not go onto the beds, couches etc and must not be allowed to lie on blankets, towels etc.
All pet hair etc must be cleaned from all floors, furniture etc by the guest prior to departure.
All pet droppings within the property must be cleaned up and disposed of responsibly by the guests.
If guests go out and leave a pet at the property it MUST BE TIED UP OUTSIDE.
By bringing a pet onto the Property guests and pet owners confirm that The Ridge accepts no liability for any injury, illness etc that may occur to their pet(s) while on the property.
The booking guest and pet owners accept full responsibility and liability for any additional cleaning, damage, injury etc that may occur due to the pet being on the property.

We had a lovely stay at the eco-cabin. The views from the room and front deck are gorgeous. The kitchen set up was really functional and well stocked.
The fire pit was really enjoyable. Overall the experience was exactly what we were looking for. A relaxing and secluded retreat.

In 2009 we, Judith & Dan Buckley, (Owners) built The Ridge as a family home on a 40 hectare property just outside Gloucester. After living in the home for a year we decided to relocate, for family and employment reasons. Still wanting to maintain ownership and have regular visits to the wonderfully scenic Gloucester and Barrington Tops region we set up the house as a short term holiday business.
In 2018 we gained council approval to build six Eco-cabins offering a rustic luxury experience. The Eco-Cabins are specifically targeted at couples looking for this more luxury and unique “up close bushland” experience. The Eco-Cabins offer this with the advantages of only being five minutes from the Gloucester township and its shopping, dining and other services and is also close to all activities the Gloucester / Barrington region has to offer.
In mid 2019 the first of our Eco-Cabins 'The Coucal' was completed. Our second Eco-Cabin, 'The Bellbird' was ready to accept guests from September 2023. The balance of the Eco-Cabins will be a staged development as occupancy and business strategy dictates.
