What a space and what a town. If you’re looking for a soul filling seaside escape this is where you must call your abode. From the moment we pulled into the driveway we fell in love with this beautifu...l space that Leesa and Mark have created. If I could live here I would. The perfect retreat for friends or couples, with gorgeous scenic walks, cute little eateries, pretty beaches to be mermaids and neighbouring towns to explore. Hands down one of my favourite places to stay. Thank you for us Leesa and Mark ♥️

We absolutely loved our stay at Haven Tropicana! The location was fantastic—just a short walk to the beach and the charming local café, The General Store. The kitchen was fully equipped with everythin...g we needed, making it easy to enjoy meals at home.
The large deck was a standout feature, perfect for unwinding in the hammock while taking in the lush tropical garden. The bed linens were beautifully soft and incredibly comfortable, adding to the relaxing ambiance. It was the perfect retreat, and we can’t wait to return!

We are Mark and Leesa, your hosts. The Beach Havens - Haven Tropicana and Haven Oceana are our creations. We’re designer builders, artists, sculptors, stylists, producers, project managers and jewellers.
The Beach Havens was designed and hand built by Mark including all cast concrete cabinetry, indoor and outdoor tables, swinging day beds, chinese screens etc etc. I manage the interiors
Together now for 30+ years sharing 5 children. We’re also the proud Noni and Poppy to 9 grandhildren. Whoa - yep keeps us deliciously busy.
Via work and leisure we’ve travelled far and wide and there are some truly amazing places out there in this small planet of ours. But we have not yet found anywhere we love more than this part of north coast NSW. We live nearby in another of our hand built creations.
We love creating with our hands, pottering in our gardens, exploring our exquisite part of coastline and hinterland, and spending time with our family and friends. We like to keep things simple. As Michael Leunig says “love one another, and you will be happy. It’s a simple and difficult as that”.

Lunch At The General Store
We stopped by The General Store, a charming little beach shack with a laid-back vibe. The food was fantastic, and the coffee and smoothies were just as good. With its friendly atmosphere and coastal charm, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy great company.
Morning Swim At Emerald Beach
We began the morning with a swim at Emerald Beach. The water was calm and refreshing, and the peaceful atmosphere set the tone for the day ahead. It was a simple but perfect start to the morning.
Surfing
Surfing breaks at Emerald Beach as well as just north and south. Pack your board or if you want to learn to surf we've got one of the best surf schools right here at our front door - Solitary Islands Surf School.
Emerald Beach
Beautiful safe swimming beach 2 mins stroll from the front door. If you fancy a bit of nude swimming and sun baking there's plenty of private spots. Try Serenity Beach - sublime.
Beach Headland And Hinterland Walks
So many beach and headland walks north and south. Beach walk all the way to north Woolgoolga & south to Moonee Beach. Hinterland bush walks just behind Emerald Beach and Coffs Harbour. If you want more Jurassic head to Dorrigo National Park.
Scouts Falls Swimming Hole
In the afternoon, we hiked to Scout Falls, scrambling over rocks and roots on a medium-difficulty trail. Along the way, we discovered a smaller waterfall, a peaceful spot before following the creek to the stunning Scout Falls. The effort was worth it—10/10 recommend for adventure seekers!
