Beautiful little cottage, we were very impressed with the breakfast hamper, access to firewood, cosy indoor decor and just a wonderful stay. Beautiful property!

Six a beautiful, peaceful part of the world. Close drive to kyneton with the best dog friendly walks, wineries and pubs! We love every second of our stay. Read our books on the grass in the sun and en...joyed the peaceful surroundings. Would 100% recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy a quiet weekend away!

We had a lovely stay at Ellerslie Cottage. The beautiful accommodation and grounds allowed for sleepy mornings with coffee before we hit a trail for a walk with our dog to take in the stunning natural... surroundings and poking around the wonderful shops of Kyneton. The bed and furnishings were very comfortable!

Turpins Falls
Turpins Falls Scenic Reserve is located approximately 12km from Kyneton and is one of several waterfalls and associated deep pools located along the Campaspe River. The water cascades into a large billabong with a high rock wall on three sides. Visitors can enjoy scenic views of the falls from a lookout located a short walk from the carpark.
Scenic Hike To The Monolith
We drove North towards the Black Hill Reserve, 260 acres of rare bushland and incredible rock formations. From the car park, there are three easy tracks that you can follow but we chose the apparently more scenic one Ridge Track. You might come across some steep sections when heading to the top but it is a very easy track and can be completed in about one hour and 30 mins. Stop to spot birds, wallabies, wombats, and some interesting rock formations. Explore a bit off track to find some beautiful views of the area.
The Cascades
At The Cascades, just to the west of the village of Metcalfe, the Coliban River flows over and among huge granite boulders and outcrops, creating many rock pools, small and large. The place is popular all year round for walks, picnics and swimming.
Country Bike Ride
We had planned to go on a big ride but when we set off in the morning towards the path, we found ourselves enjoying our slow bike ride through the local streets, past the bluestone houses and country surroundings.
Drinks At Botanik Bar
We stopped in to have a drink at Botanik, a cocktail bar and gift shop in a converted historic hotel.
Lunch At Hanging Rock Winery
We sat in the sun drenched garden overlooking the vineyards while we ate charcuterie lunch and sampled the local wines. The rose is a must try!
