My husband Jim and I absolutely loved our stay at Stone Cottage.
The cottage is wonderfully whimsical, cosy and deeply calming. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into another pace of ...life. The huge glass windows are spectacular, framing the landscape like a living artwork and creating a constant connection to the surrounding bushland. We spent hours simply watching the light change, listening to the birds, and taking in the views.
Everything was impeccably clean and thoughtfully considered, but what stood out most was the care woven into the property. As a landscape architect, I was particularly moved by the evident respect for the local ecology and wildlife. So often places speak about sustainability, but here it feels genuinely lived and practised. The landscape has been allowed to be itself, creating refuge not only for guests but for the many birds and creatures that call it home.
Stone Cottage was also the perfect base for exploring the region. We spent time wandering through the magnificent forest at Mait’s Rest, and returning to the cottage afterwards felt like an extension of the experience immersed in nature, quiet, and completely restorative.
Stone Cottage really is unlike any place we’ve stayed before. We left feeling rested, inspired, and very grateful for the experience.

This was such a unique and special experience for my partner and I. Being able to bring our dogs on a family getaway was the cherry on top! I've never felt so at home immediately after walking through the front door. Bloody excellent.

Really awesome stay, the cottage is really cosy and the views are unbeatable. We stayed with our two dogs who loved it. Would highly recommend for a weekend away or longer!

Seatrees Farm has been a licensed Wildlife Shelter since 2000. This entails the care of injured and orphaned wildlife. Over these years we have successfully raised orphaned joeys and rehabilitated injured mammals and birds to release back into the wild.

Waves Shells And Rockpools
This quiet and secluded beach can be accessed right from the property. We loved exploring the rock pools and collecting shells here while our boy Mr Pickles had the freedom to run around. This spot also takes you to the Great Ocean Walk Trail which snakes around the coastline.

Such a stunning place for an early morning beach walk. You might even want to brave the water!

Sipping freshly made coffee we spotted whales migrating and Australian fur seals lounging on the reefs – don’t forget your binoculars.

Whether you're stopping by Apollo Bay for a quick stopover or you want to slow down and relax with your road trip buddies, this is the place to be. With their handcrafted gins distilled on-site and using local botanicals, what's not to love? A freshly made wood-fired pizza will pair perfectly with one of their unique gins. You won't be disappointed.
Pints And Polaroids
A local gave us a tip to check out Tastes of the Region at The Great Ocean Road Brewhouse. It didn't disappoint, with a selection of local wines, beers and gins. The customary dog polaroid after a pint and our family portrait was a beautiful reminder of our time at The Tasting Room.
Healthy Breaky At Icaro Cafe
The best place to get a fantastic oat milk latté, delicious smashed avo and an acai bowl.
