Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend. A quiet, peaceful stay surrounded by nature. We enjoyed the indoor log fireplace in the afternoons/evenings and sunrise in the morning coming through the tre...es was a lovely experience. Carly is an excellent host and made us feel right at home ( along with the 4 beautiful dogs ). We were even lucky enough to be treated to some home made bread, which was delicious! Would 100% stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a cosy escape.

The Valley View Cottage was just what we needed when we were looking to escape the busy city life. Such a peaceful and great place to unwind and unplug. Carly was very accomodating, providing suggestions of activities nearby. Will definitely be back again!

Our stay at Valley View Cottage was absolutely lovely. Such a relaxing and quiet place. The perfect spot to unwind and unplug. Carly was an amazing host, so thoughtful and great to communicate with. E...ven though you’re on the same property, it is still quite private. Absolutely loved our stay and would 100% recommend!

Paterson Court House Museum
A really interesting museum located in Paterson. It's definitely worth a visit if you would like to know more about Patersons historical society.
The museum is only open on Sundays, and from here you can also do the self-guided Paterson Town Walk which leads you around the historic town of Paterson, providing information about its heritage buildings and features.

Tinshed Brewery
The Tinshed Brewery is located in Dungog and it's definitely worth a visit. The beers are amazing, the burgers are deeeeelicious and the staff is super friendly!
Horse Riding
Explore the Hunter Valley horseback, riding through stunning wine country you will explore its gorges and see the best our valley has to offer. Breathe in the crisp clean air as you enjoy a pleasant ride in the Hunter bushlands. Local tour groups and guides provide an excellent experience and share their extensive knowledge of the area.

Head out bushwalking in Yengo National Park or explore Barrington Tops National Park, which is part of the World Heritage Gondwana Rainforests. Join Barrington Outdoor Adventures and explore the park in a kayak or canoe.
Blue Gum Loop Trail
Upper Allyn is right in the beginning of Barrington Tops National Park and only 50 minutes drive from the cottage. We drove here one morning and did the Blue Gum Loop Trail which is lovely - dense forest and beautiful river crossings along the way!
