An incredible weekend at a beautiful property with wonderful hosts. Everything about our stay was amazing. The cottage was beautifully styled, inviting and warm. Ada’s information was thorough and det...ailed and we never felt lost at any point. The property is beautifully maintained and there are so many pieces of art spread throughout the outside areas. There are so many things to see and explore all within walking distance from your bnb! We felt very relaxed which was the main purpose of our weekend.

Highlights

- the incredible spa bath and fireplace!
- the little touches of things you find around the property such as games, art work and places to sit and enjoy in nature.
- the alpacas and kangaroos and all other wildlife
- the tomato sauce

Thank you once again Ada and Prue for hosting us. We will definitely be back!

Absolute perfection. What a beautiful piece of paradise Millduck is. We had the most amazing 3 night stay on Ada's immaculate Alpaca property. The views were amazing as we strolled the perimeter.
Ada... ensured every possible thing we could want or need was available.
Nothing like a fire on a wintery night. Cozy, comfy, friendly and delicious.
Can't recommend this place more highly!

Because we live here, in a magical place, we like to share it with others. Your privacy & comfort is paramount. You will stay in one of our fully self contained, strawbale units, not in our house. You are free to wander around our property, pat the alpacas, stroll to the lookout or through the gardens, down to the water.

Makin Friends With A View

On the property there's a heap of friendly Alpacas. They were in the top paddock which had an incredible view too! I made my way up to the top gave pats to the Alpacas. Be gentle and no quick, sudden movements cos you'll scare them off. They also like to be patted on the neck not the head friends.

Great spot for a picnic too!

Vintage Stores Tour

All over Castlemaine are several vintage stops and antique stores. I spent all day touring around going from one place to another getting lost in my own vintage world!
Vintage Bazaar - has a little coffee van too plus an art gallery nearby. Plenty of parking and toilets available. Barrow Boy Traders. The Mill. Lots of op shops like "The Good Op Shop" and Mails and Boon. Also add Warm Store. The usual Vinnies as well as Animal Welfare Store had plenty of clothes!
"Book Heaven" is the biggest second hand book store I've ever come across in my travels. If you are a book and record freak like me, you could spend all day here.

Lake Weeroona

This peaceful lake is a natural haven for visitors and local birdlife. The surrounding parklands and tracks are enjoyed for picnics, bike rides, leisurely strolls and time spent by the still waters. To add to your experience jump on a vintage tram in the city centre which brings you straight to the lake.

Bike Riding

Take a pleasant ride through time. The Bendigo Creek Trail winds through the regions historical and natural attractions. The trail was opened in 1993 and follows the Bendigo Creek.
Explore the Harcourt Mountain Bike Park, 5 mins away or follow the iconic 210km Goldfields Track which meanders from Ballarat to Bendigo.

Bushwalking

Enjoy the thriving Australian bushlands, The National Park is popular during August and October when the wildflowers boom. This protected land is perfect for bushwalking, birdwatching and scenic drives through the unsealed roads.
