FARM HOUSE DETAILS
34 years back, Julie and Nick made a big move from the bustling Central Coast in search of a more peaceful country/coastal lifestyle to raise a family, with room for horses and growing a Rainforest. They came across an old 100acre dairy farm in the hinterland of the Nambucca Valley and quickly relocated to this place of natural mystic surrounded by lush forest valleys and mountains. With a big vision of regenerating the property into a wildlife/habitat/human haven, they got busy creating lush rainforest gardens and wildscapes, planting out gullies and ridges with native rainforest plants, bushtucker gardens, planting a Davidson Plum orchard and collecting/growing local rainforest species to regenerate our land and others.

On November 8th 2019, unprecedented bushfires ravaged through the valley and our community in South Arm. Our home and accomodation survived, however our farm and 34,000ha of forests, habitat and wildlife were decimated.

As passionate stewards of this land, we have been working non stop to rebuild, revegetate and regenerate. We are proud to be a Designated Land for Wildlife property which has credited our dedication to our growing extensive local rainforest/garden plantings and native eucalypt gullies.

This previously created corridors for the diverse species of fauna, flora , birds, wallabies and other native animals that either live here all year round or visit us on a seasonal basis. We are working once again towards creating wildlife corridors and biodiverse habitats with future generations in mind...

A lot has changed at Nahele since the fires, yet there is still immense beauty in landscape, with the forests flushing with green growth and the strong diversity of birds and frogs apparent. The magic is still here and we can’t wait to share it all with you.

At Nahele it is easy to tune into the slow rhythm of the Australian bush, take in the intimate sounds of nature and disconnect from everyday distractions. THE Shed is the perfect environment for couples and solo adventurers who wish to recharge, reconnect and reinvigorate new energy with each other and yourself in nature.

There are several walking trails leading to observation photography spots overlooking waterlily clad dams, valley vistas and views scattered around the property where you can bird and wallaby watch, pat a horse or feed the cows. Bring your own bikes to enjoy miles of picturesque open country roads and or run the same tracks til your hearts content. Get your hands into the earth and help us plant some local native rainforest trees or koala feed trees as part of our regeneration projects at Nahele.

We are lucky to have magnificent National Parks in our local area such as Dungirr (Koala), Gumbaynggirr and Yariabini which home incredible old growth rainforest and vulnerable species like koala, yellow bellied gliders, spotted quoll and many more.

World Heritage Dorrigo National park is 1 hour drive away and is perfect for a day trip. The Shed is located only 35 minutes from our pristine coastlines showcasing insatiable surfing spots and secluded beaches and National Marine Parks like Solitary Islands and South West Rocks (both excellent scuba diving) and Scotts Head. One of the beauties of staying at Nahele is the ability to chill out at the farm, spend the day wandering around our nearby sub-tropical rainforests or go surfing at our favourite beaches (or do all 3!).

Nahele is a great base to explore the area or to take it as easy as you desire.

Nambucca valley, Australia
1Listings
G’day my name is Caitlin. I grew up on our family property Nahele in the Nambucca Valley NSW and after many years of travelling around Australia as a tour guide; I am stoked to be back home sharing the magic of my incredible backyard. My favourite thing is connecting people with the natural world and seeing beauty of our diverse landscapes and wildlife. Recently; I’ve been dedicating a lot of time to local forest conservation/activism, playing with my herd of horses, planting trees & helping my family with the regeneration of Nahele after the summer fires of 2019 . Can’t wait to show you around!

Yoga Serenity

There are so many idyllic nature spots to sit in meditation/practice yoga at Nahele. Maybe you want to sit on top of a mountain, or surrounded by birds, wallabies or horses. The art of slowing down and tuning in with the natural cycles is key!

We stoked the fire up on Sunset Hill, cracked open some local beer and wine and enjoyed each others company while nestled in the mountains.

Becoming Friends With The Locals

We took a walk into one of many paddocks on the property where five beautiful horses live and play. We became good friends with the locals as they followed us around the paddock and up to the huge fig tree.
