We chose Redleaf OurCarriage as an escape from the city - and it was exactly that! Our kids (aged 3 and 6) absolutely loved staying in a real train carriage on a real farm - a far cry from everyday li...fe in a townhouse with no garden! It ended up being a heat wave over the days we were there, however we coped fine in the carriage and were able to escape to a nearby swimming hole (and pub!) during the hottest part of the day. The creek on the farm also provided relief from the heat and we loved paddling the canoe there - the kids absolutely loved the zipline, tyre swing and yabbi catching off the jetty. The hosts are super friendly and were more than happy to show us around the farm and all the different animals, and provide information about nearby places to visit. Fresh farm eggs were a bonus, and getting to feed the goats and cows was a treat for the kids too. Everything felt very homely, comfortable, easy to use and safe for two kids to run amok. All in all a wonderful stay that we've already recommended to friends!

This lovely farm stay had everything you could want! Gorgeous scenery, friendly animals and the most unique place to stay. The carriage had hot water, a luxurious bed and many places to sit with a gla...ss of wine 🍷 and a good book 📖
It can get quite warm, but this was easily rectified by opening the windows to let the breeze through. This carriage was a bit closer to Sam and Katrina's house than we realised, but they have another carriage (number 343) on the same property that affords a lot more privacy. This particular carriage would be wonderful for a family, as the animals are right next to the carriage and love getting pats and scratches! 🥰
Sam and Katrina were incredible hosts who were so helpful with recommendations of places to go and restaurants to try! They were also kind enough to introduce us to all the lovely animals, including a stunning peacock who loved showing off his feathers to us 😍 Best of all we got to feed the cows!
All in all an incredible stay! I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a relaxing weekend getaway to the southern highlands 🌿

From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a hidden sanctuary away from the noise of everyday life. Our welcome committee? A majestic resident peacock strutting gracefully as if to say, “Y...ou’re in for something special.” That first evening was pure bliss—just us, cozying up in the Redlead Carriage, unwinding and savoring the quiet.
Morning brought a delightful surprise: Katrina, our incredible host. Warm, knowledgeable, and full of stories, she guided us through a fascinating farm tour, answering every curious question with a smile. It wasn’t just a tour—it felt like being invited into her world.
The Redlead Carriage itself was a dream. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making it the perfect backdrop for our girls’ getaway. We spent hours simply sitting together, laughing, and soaking in the serenity. It was more than a trip—it was an experience we’ll treasure.

Redleaf Farm
Relax in total isolation or explore our farm. Feed goats, chickens, geese, donkey and pigs. We often see wombats, kangaroos, and fallow deer. Enjoy our creek, swimming hole, zipline for kids, canoes, swing and fire bbq. We have a waterfall and 200 acres of bushland to explore.
Mountain Biking Gunrock Falls Firetrail
Our property adjoins Meryla State forest and a myriad of firetrails perfect for mountainbike enthusiasts. Explore Gunrock Creek Firetrail, Redhills Firetrail and several km of unmarked single track. We can also access 7km of singletrack at Twin Falls bush cottages.
Strolling Nature Around The Farm
Redleaf Farm is surrounded with raw natural beauty. We went for a walk down the creek and imagined how refreshing it would be to plunge in or kayak during the warmer months. Only a few minutes walk from there, we found a waterfall with its serene and peaceful setting. A perfect place to unwind and appreciate nature to its fullest.
Farm Tour
Sam, took us for a farm tour and let us experience what it's like to do the farm rounds, like a real farmer! Feeding the livestock including highland cattle, sheep, pigs, hens, goose was so therapeutic. He truly is a passionate farmer who loves sharing his knowledge about the farm and all the nutrient dense food comes from.
