A beautifully restored weather board cottage that sleeps up to 8 people. Sit on the vast porch and watch the sun set while the kids and dogs run freely. Take a short drive to Brae for a culinary experience like no other, drive down the hill for 20mins to Lorne beach and the Great Ocean Road, or simply take a very long bush walk amongst the 300 acres - 100 of which is natural bushland full of birdlife.

There is a glamping tent also available to hire, however this can only be hired in conjunction with the house. It sleeps two people and it is an extra $100/night. Please advise on initial enquiry if you are interested in the glamping tent as well as the house.

What a wonderful 4 nights away! Lalwinya Cottage is a gorgeous little tucked away cottage on a peaceful farm. I’ve stayed here twice now as I loved it so much the first time. We had great weather for ...autumn. The garden looked beautiful, we took a walk to the dam and enjoyed a red wine by the outdoor and indoor fires. The location is great too. Not too far from Lorne and the Otway National Park where we visited Beauchamp Falls. Thank you Talya!

Bit of a gem! Photos don’t quite do it justice. Huge deck is the highlight, overlooking an even huger view. The house itself is full of charm. Very quiet and peaceful location, but accessible to Lorne for a day at the beach.

I‘m a former actor, come Opera Director and I bought the farm 5 years ago with a real need to feel connected to the land. My two kids and I, as much as we’d love to, can’t realistically make the full time move to the farm and so I want to share it’s beauty. My vegetable garden is my creative outlet these days - there is nothing more satisfying than growing, picking, cooking and eating your own food! I want to share the pleasure that this slice of paradise gives to our family (including my two beautiful golden retrievers) with others to enjoy. With over 100acres of natural bush on the property you will never be short of a walking adventures. Be sure to stop at the dam with the jetty and watch for eagles!!!

With two Yoga mats at the house and weather permitting set up on the deck and do yoga with a view!

The open sky at Lalwinya Cottage gave us the best view of the stars on our first night. Sitting out on the deck, we were able to even see Mars! We also had a little play with spotlighting on the property.

Farm Walks

Lalwinya Cottage is 300 acres of working farm, and you are allowed to explore all parts of it (as long as gates are closed behind you!). There were so many amazing views through the hills, and being spring - so many beautiful flowers!

Jetty On The Dam

We walked down to the jetty to enjoy our first afternoon here. It was such a beautiful dam - if the weather was warmer, most definitely bring your bathers! Dusty had a good swim, and we had a great time relaxing in the sunshine overlooking the water.

Erskine Falls

The beautiful Erskine Falls tumbles 30 metres into the lush fern gully of the Erskine River. Take in the beauty of the falls from two lookouts and feel the mist from the cascading water as you take in the views. For passionate walkers take the 7.5-kilometre Erskine River Track which leads from the falls to Lorne along the river, passing Straw Falls and Splitter Falls. Erskine Falls are located just nine-kilometre from Lorne.

It can't be a beach trip without having fish and chips on the beach!

Bottle Of Milk

As big burger fans, there was no going past The Bottle of Milk in Lorne to get our hands on some good food! One of the best burgers we've ever had.

Grab the board and towels (don't forget the sunblock) and head down to Lorne for a day in the sun and surf - don't forget to try a burger at the Bottle of Milk.

St George River

We made a stop at St George River as it looked like a fantastic place to run the dog - and boy was it! We spent a bit of time here, running around and laughing at Dusty in the water. Would definitely recommend this spot as a great place to escape the crowds where you can still enjoy the beach.

Cumberland River Fishing

Grab your gear and head to th famous Cumberland River for all your fishing needs - an hours drive from the property sees you in the midst of fishing heaven.
