Torquay Farm Stay Studio Truck
Once a horse truck, this renovated 1970 dodge is now an architecturally designed studio apartment. The truck design maximises the space allowing for a large loft bedroom area and small combined kitchen and living space, with a pot belly fire.
The potbelly stove and barbecue are available for cooking. Guests will wake up to a beautiful view over the wetlands and Thompson's creek.
Depending on the season and time of day, there may be opportunities for farm activities such as fruit picking, animal feeding and observing milking. We like to welcome you personally on your arrival and give you a guided tour of the farm and the facilities if possible.
The Freshwater Creek farm, located 15mins from Torquay and the Great Ocean Road, is the perfect location for a peaceful getaway, and it is only a short drive from the beach. 'The Farmer's Place' next to the property is a popular cafe which sustainably grows and serves its own food.
1 queen bed, 1 single bed. Another mattress can be put in a higher loft which is suitable for a child
The space can comfortably accommodate 3 adults, with options for 1-2 children.
Guests have access to the entire truck, which contains a compost toilet and running water. Travelers will also have access to a full bathroom (with shower) in the adjacent house, as well as a flushing outdoor toilet about 100m away. All cooking utensils are supplied, plus basic condiments and any fresh seasonal farm produce. Cook on the potbelly stove or bbq/gas cooker outside
The studio truck has a magnificent view over the wetland, creek and surrounding farms and it is quite private
No pets unless previously arranged. No smoking in the truck.
Our cows are milked each morning. You are welcome to watch or try your hand at milking. We often have calves or other baby animals around the farm. Feeding the ducks and chooks is a fun adventure for the children, and collecting the eggs!
