An easy two hour drive from Melbourne, mid way along the Great Ocean Road . Enjoy all that the surf coast has to offer without the noise, traffic, hustle and bustle!

Stroll up the Allenvale Road to Lorne's premier Art Gallery 'QDOS', and enjoy fine food, wine, sculpture and constantly changing art.

The perfect base for all your Great Ocean Road and Otway Hinterland explorations. Pack a picnic and take the day to wind your way through Apollo Bay, to the Twelve Apostles, Otway Fly Treetop Walk, olives groves and wineries.

A slow combustion wood fire and additional reverse cycle air provides ample warmth for a cosy retreat in winter and cooling if required in the summer.

Please show yourselves into Riverbank cottage, the keys will be on the table for you.

There is no council rubbish collection at Allenvale, there are community bins available at the Lorne transfer station on the Erskine Falls Road.

Sometimes the water can be slightly discoloured because the supply is filtered river water, it's perfectly safe to drink.

There are many beautiful walks through the bush along the George River to the ocean and through the Allenvale orchard to water falls.

My family and I had a wonderful stay here. The property was beautiful, so relaxing and we enjoyed watching the birds and kangaroos in the evening. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at riverbank cottage! Such a lovely place to stay! We had kangaroos right outside our window. The scenery is gorgeous and so nice being so close to town but not right there!

Riverbank Cottage was the perfect base for us. It was close to some lovely walks, was super cosy, was well equipped, and had great dining areas (perfect for chaotic dinners). Despite being close to other cottages, it felt very private and homely. Thank you for having us!
