Our property is surrounded by 133 acres of natural bush land, making it a wildlife sanctuary with native critters right on our doorstep. And when it comes to sleeping arrangements, our three-bedroom American-style barn is the perfect place to rest your head. With three queen-sized beds and hotel-quality linens, you'll feel snug as a bug in a rug.

Inside, The Barn is fully air-conditioned for your comfort during the warmer months, and we've got an open fireplace and electric blankets to keep you cozy when it's chilly outside. Our chef's dream kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm, and our large lounge and living areas are perfect for curling up in front of the fire with a good book or movie.

We've got plenty of outdoor spaces to explore, including a main undercover courtyard with a large BBQ and outdoor table, deck chairs, and even a hammock for those lazy afternoons. And if you're feeling competitive, head over to our separate Games Room for some table tennis, pool, or chess - indoor or outdoor.

For those looking for an adventure, we have got three bushwalks on the property, ranging from a 30-minute introduction walk down to our dam and back to a 1-hour trek down to the Abercrombie River via the boundary fence. And if bushwalking isn't your thing, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy, from 4x4 driving to wildlife spotting to star gazing.

If you are bring your pet with you, be sure to let us know first as additional cleaning fees apply for pets, and we don't allow aggressive or unsocial animals on-site.

You'll need a car to get around as Abercrombie Ridge is in remote country NSW. All of the major attractions within the area are about a 30-60 drive away so it's important not to run out of fuel leaving town, we suggest filling up with fuel in Goulburn or Oberon.

If you're planning on exploring the property, make sure to pack some closed walking shoes or trainers, and consider wearing long pants. We want you to be comfortable and safe while enjoying the beautiful views and scenery.

Abercrombie Ridge is located about 26kms from Taralga and 70kms from Goulburn.

We recommend bringing all the essentials, including food and alcohol before leaving town, ands don't forget to top up on fuel before leaving town as we're quite remote!

While you're here, there are plenty of things to do in the local area. You can visit Taralga Wildlife Park or Wombeyan Caves, enjoy a meal at Laggan Pantry, The Argyle Inn or the Sports Club (where all the locals go), or grab a drink with friends at The Taralga Hotel or Laggan Brewing Co. If you're interested in history, the Taralga Historical Society has some interesting relics on display.

For the adventurous, there are also some great places to visit nearby, such as Mayfield Gardens, Abercrombie National Park, and Jenolan Caves, as well as our neighbouring towns of Crookwell, Goulburn, and Oberon – all great towns worth exploring, be sure to see what our beautiful region has to offer!

While we do live on the property, we like to give our guests their privacy. You'll typically only see us at check-in and when we introduce you to your accommodation. However, we're always available to answer any questions you may have or offer recommendations on activities in the area.

Just a heads up, we do have some furry friends on-site. Our two Kelpie puppies, Jackson and Mitchell, and our two cats, Minx and Rosi, are always around and love a good cuddle. Just be sure not to feed the Kelpies human food as they have a strict diet.

Abercrombie Ridge is our full-time job, and we do live on-site (in the Quarters). We are a married couple and have been together for 20 years. The Ridge is a beautiful country getaway and is an extraordinary place that we wanted to share with others. Over the last 11 years since we've owned the Property, we've poured our hearts, our time, blood, sweat and tears into refreshing it and getting it to a place where we, our friends and others can enjoy. When you walk into The Barn, you can feel the love and warmth that has been added to our home, we're excited and hope that you love your time in our house too.

Learn To 4 X 4 In Your Own Car With Russ

Many of our guests drive an AWD or 4x4 but have never taken it off a sealed road. During your stay, we provide optional 4x4 lessons at $150.00 per driver where Russ will leach you how to use the features of your own car.
