Looking for an adventure, an escape, or just an opportunity to reconnect with nature? ‘Wildernest’ offers a unique off-grid experience, staying in a tiny house (nicknamed "T1") nestled amongst the bushland on the edge of the Wingello Forest.
T1 is an architecturally designed, sustainably built tiny house. It's small by its very nature, but it's clever design and a few little luxuries help max out every nook and cranny of the space. The tiny house operates completely off-grid, running off solar for power and gas for heating and cooking. T1 opens out onto a large undercover deck that overlooks a rolling rural landscape in one direction and the adjoining forest in the other.
Just moments walk from your tiny house, you'll find yourself in the forest surrounded by 100 year old gums, spotting a mob of kangaroos and following the sound of the trickling stream to a small waterfall. You'll come home from your adventures to a soak in your Hikki wood fired hot tub and a cold drink on the deck. After settling in by the firepit until well into the evening, you'll eventually pile into a comfy bed made up with luxurious french linen sheets.
The whole idea of Wildernest is an off-grid wilderness experience that offers an escape to a secluded area. It’s all about nature, big gulps of fresh air and whole lot of R&R. For the more restless types, its a great base for an adventure - bush walking, mountain biking, wildlife spotting, forest bathing - or perhaps exploring the Southern Highlands foodie hot spots is more your thing.

Amazing! We absolutely loved the experience at T1! Thank you James and Amanda for letting us stay in your wonderful T1 tiny home. My boyfriend and I had a lovely time and enjoyed being off grid for a ...few days. We got to enjoy the tub and the fire-pit and loved the home itself! it had everything we needed and we felt really peaceful and stressed free! We woke up to kangaroos surrounding our home which was so lovely! Would definitely come to T1 again! So worth it!!!

Thank you so much for our stay. We have thoroughly enjoyed the T1 tiny home experience. The tiny home is lovely and the location is stunning. We spent hours watching the wildlife in the tub, by the fire and through window the tiny home. Cannot recommend any more! Look forward to staying again soon.

T1 was the perfect space to unwind from the busy hustle back at home. It was soo cosy and the stars at night were the major highlights. 10/10 would definitely come back again!!

After a few decades of living in the big smoke, we moved our family away from the crammed craziness of city life to the Southern Highlands, a place that offered a slower pace with more space. We’ve loved every aspect of this transition – fresh air, room to roam and for the kids to run like wild, space to grow our own produce and to tread a lighter environment footprint. The idea of Wildernest came about after having countless conversations with our city friends wanting to escape the city for a break, wanting to unplug, unwind and to take a break from it all. So we created T1 and T2 tiny houses in one of the most beautiful spots we know. The idea being a totally off-the-grid escape, one that is eco-friendly and treads lightly on its beautiful surrounds, but still has all the little luxuries.
