COTTAGE DETAILS
We love spending time there, once you close that gate, you are in your own private world. The front verandah gets the afternoon sun and is one of our favourite spots for a cuppa or a wine, or go out to the back deck, which is a 5metre enclosed space, shaded by an old apple tree. Fire up the bbq and relax! Or go out to dinner, or have it delivered. In the morning, walk down to the General store for a coffee and a warm muffin.
The Hydronic heating in winter warms the space but the thought of sitting by the Ned Kelly with a glass of wine is very appealing. There is evaporative cooling for the summer months. If that isn't enough, in both seasons we have a large bath to cool you in summer and warm you in winter.
It is a calming place both inside and out.

My young family and I had a spectacular stay at Wariin Cottage. It was the perfect cosy winter escape.
We loved the warm fire, the EPICALLY comfortable beds (I wanted to bring the beds home) and the ...gorgeous family meals we had around that beautiful dining table.
We explored soldiers falls, tasted the different mineral springs at the Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve and caught a delicious trout at Tuki Trout Farm.
Ps the coffee from the Virgin Kitchen just around the corner is amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Wariin Cottage. The space was cosy, the beds super comfy and the location was perfect - everything was within walking distance which meant we could take our 2 litt...le dogs everywhere with us! There was even a walking track at the end of the street, which took us across Spring Creek and over to the springs near the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa.
The street was lovely and quiet and our dogs enjoyed exploring the backyard, which was very secure. Our daughter loved the back deck when it was lit up at night.
Clare recommended quite a few places to eat. We particularly enjoyed the pizzas from Hepburn Pizza & the coffee from The Virgin Kitchen, which was only a 2 min walk from the house!
We will definitely head back to Hepburn Springs, a lovely alternative to the much busier Daylesford.

Hepburn Mineral Springs A Sip Of Something Different
A short stroll to taste the naturally carbonated springs... surprising, refreshing, and the soda spring won us over as favourite.

Argyle Spring
An hour (2.8km) return walk through beautiful bushland north of the Hepburn Mineral Springs reserve where you can sample mineral-rich spring waters. Bring your reusable bottle.
Dry Diggings Track Goldfields Track
Running from The Goldfields Track is 210km in length and passes through some of central Victoria's most historic towns and beautiful forests. One of the most interesting sections of the trail is the Dry Diggings Track from Daylesford to Castlemaine. It's still nearly 50km in length so we walked different sections of this over our stay. Highlights include the Blowhole, granite boulders, remnants of old mine sites and lots of wide-open space and time in nature.
Lunch At Cliffys Daylesford
Cliffy's is the perfect brunch spot in Daylesford. Their philosophy is ‘We support the producers’ and you’ll find timber shelves full of gorgeous local produce and preserves, perfect for gifting too. We sat under the verandah and grapevines, sipped on coffee and chai, and really enjoyed the laksa eggs – a must-try!
The Amazing Mill Markets
A fun browse through eclectic treasures and local finds, the perfect way to round out an adventure-packed morning.
Wombat Hill House Breakfast With A View
Incredible breakfast burgers and impeccable service, surrounded by the marvelous Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens.
